Friday Favorites - Post Vacation Edition

It's Friday and once again it's time for Friday Favorites with ErikaNarci and Andrea.

Last week I was on vacation and intended to do a post but was so busy having fun I just didn't get around to it but now I'm back and ready to share some favs.

I picked up this handy tip from Pinterest and have been using it for about a year. It's genius if you ask me.

When you look at this what do you see?  A sunglasses case? Sure, but here's what I see

I throw this is my carry on bag  or my car and I'm good to go. It keeps my headphones, backup charger, charging cord and charger all neat and in one place. Seriously a great idea and it just occurred to me this would make a great gift idea for the girls in your life.

This one is going to sound crazy weird, at least it might. I remember when we moved to MN you'd see Walleye (fish) on the menu everywhere we went and we'd never heard of Walleye. Well fast forward 6 years to breakfast this past Sunday when our friends we were with fixed FRIED WALLEYE for BREAKFAST. What??? Breakfast??? Yes, breakfast. I had never heard of this and thought it was off the charts crazy. Boy howdy was I wrong. It was delicious. Probably the best fried fish I've ever had. Not the best picture, but for sure the best fish!

It was battered in this really light beer batter and I could have eaten a ton, but showed self control and only had one piece.

I don't know if this is something available only in the MN area, but I highly recommend it if you are into frying fish.

I know I've talked about these before (here), but every single person I introduce these to just loves them.

We stopped by Costco to pick up some groceries on the way up to the lake and grabbed a bag of these. They were almost all gone by the end of the weekend.

This deal from Rodan + Fields

Purchase the REDEFINE AMP It Up Special and receive a box of Acute Care Patches for FREE. That's a $220 value!!!

Here's a break down to show you just what a bargain this is when purchased as a preferred customer.

I've used 5 Acute Care Patches so far and these are my personal results. I have a really deep crease between my eyes and it's beginning to disapper.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this deal I'd love to help you. Feel free to visit my website
or email me

I busted in to all of my Nordstrom #NSALE boxes that came while I was gone and I can't believe these words are even entering my head, but I'm excited for a cool fall day to wear some of my new things.

Monday I'm going to have a post "modeling" (and I use that term loosely...HA!) some of my new digs. You may want to jump on line after you see some of my sale scores.

This week has flown by since I was gone for the first 2 days and Friday showed up super fast.

Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Be sure to stop by some of these other Friday link ups to see what's going on in blogger land.

Mother Daughter Vacation

And fun was had by all...

What a week we had! I won't give you a blow by blow but I will show in pictures a lot of the fun that was had.

We spent a week in Minnesota with friends and enjoyed every single minute.
Heading to the airport in Oakland and check out the wall of clouds.

Katie and her BFF Kylie

My friend Kim, Kylie's mom

Me and my girl at one of our favorite restaurants

Lake Minnetonka

Snapchat :)

After dinner treat at Licks

Catching up with my friend Cara

After day two we headed up north to Mille Lacs Lake

The girls did so many fun activities (and me too...just no pics to prove it)

Mexican Train Dominoes

Go cart

Riding the boys Big Wheels

Learning to drive a stick shift

Big Mable

I LOVE Katie's expression!!!!

Gorgeous rainbow. Look closely, it's a DOUBLE rainbow.
I've never seen one so vibrant and look how it came in front of the trees.

Capt. Rich and his First and Second Mate

We were out on the boat one night before dinner and saw several Eagles fly by and I managed to get a really good picture.

The hostess with the friend Karen

Camp Justified - hunting cabin

Gorgeous sunsets

Dinner the last night at another one of our favorites, Lion's Tap. Pretty much the only place I'll eat a burger and the best crunchy fries.

Finishing off the evening with an ice cream float.

These girls and their friendship make my heart so happy and I'm tickled pink they got to be reunited for a week.

We had a blast and absolutely loved every minute of our trip...right up to where poor Katie came down with a cold or sinus infection. Thankfully it was only bad the day before we came home and now she can rest and get better.

Thanks to our friends for opening up their homes and hearts to us.
We are blessed!!!

What's Up Wednesday

What? It's Wednesday already? I'm completely confused as to what day of the week it is.
Katie and I got back in to town from a little mother/daughter vacation last night (more to come on that tomorrow) and so now it's unpacking, laundry and grocery shopping for me.

The last Wednesday of the month MelShay and Sheaffer host this fun little (make that big) link up where everyone brings you up to speed on what's going on in their little corner of the world.

Here's what you'll find out...

Here's what's up at the Richardson house these days.

What we're eating this week...

Good question! Mother Hubbard's cupboard is bare. A trip to Costco is on the list for today.

 What I'm reminiscing about...

It's been 3 years since we moved Benny into college and now we are about to do the same thing for Katie.

What I'm loving...

While we were on vacation I didn't take my Micro-Dermabrasion Paste and when I got home last night I used it and my face felt so soft.

What we've been up to...

Tune in tomorrow and see a photo story of our trip to Minnesota.

What I'm dreading...

Getting on a plane and coming home without Katie.

What I'm working on...

When we got home last night I saw these by the door. All my goodies I ordered from Nordstrom came while I was gone. #sorrykent
Now I've got to go through all of them and decide what's rates keeping and what goes back. I'd love to just keep it all, but my wallet doesn't advise that.

What I'm excited about...

Yesterday we got an email from corporate with this special offer. It. is. phenomenal.

Here's a break down of just how great this deal is.
$283 is the Preferred Customer Price
($314 is the Retail Price)

What other skincare line do you know that will offer a Gift With Purchase worth $220?

I'm on my 5th Acute Care Patch for the deep crease/line on my forehead between my eyes and can see it working.

If you've ever considered trying the Acute Care Patches for wrinkles, now's the time to do it.

What I'm watching/reading...

Y'all know I'm not a big reader but I was given this book to read in preparation for a bible study I'm participating in beginning in September.

This is a good book to read whether you find yourself in difficult times currently or just need a good reminder to look for God's hand and faithfulness in everything.

The author uses stories from real people and shows a correlation to the struggles Jacob, Abraham, Joseph and Moses went through. I found it to be thought provoking while also making me grateful for times when I struggle and changing my focus from self pity to growth and focusing on the positive.

What I'm listening to...
At this very moment I'm listening to the tv and Parks and Recreation. Katie came back sick from our trip and is lying around on the sofa watching episode after episode.

What I'm wearing it...

This Pleione top has become of favorite of mine and a lot of others. I've had several friends order it after seeing mine. I love the colors and it's super comfortable. I wore it on the plane with my blardigan and it was perfect.

What I'm doing this weekend...

We are getting together for dessert and cards/games with some friends Friday night and Sunday morning we have "Worship in the Park" where we move our service to the park across the street and then have a cookout. I was "called out" in the bulletin to make Carmelitas. These gooey little squares of heaven are soooo good. It's a recipe I found on where else? Pinterest.
Click HERE for recipe link.

What am I looking forward to next month...

Next month marks a new chapter in mine and Kent's lives. I'm looking forward to seeing what that is going to look like and getting into our new "normal".

What else is new...

Well, let's see...not much. The next two weeks I'm going to be soaking in the last days of having a child live at home. We will be getting together all the things she needs to take to school and I'm praying every day for God to prepare both of us for this new phase. Katie is so excited and I'm so excited for her. She such a sweet, bright girl and the possibilities are endless for her. This saying always comes to mind and I want to put it on something for her dorm room as a reminder.

Happy Wednesday friends! Hope you are having a great week so far and enjoy What's Up Wednesday.

Come back tomorrow to see all about our trip to Minnesota.
