Friday Favorites #38

Hello Friday...again.
Christmas came and left in the blink of an eye and now we are about to embark on a new year, a clean slate, a fresh start.

I've started de-Christmasing my house. Once it's over, it's over. As much as I love having all the decorations up and out I also love reclaiming my space once it's done. When I pull out my decorations I feel like makes the house all warm and cozy, but once I put them away, the house feels bigger and cleaner.

I keep saying it, and after this I promise I'll stop.
I wish there was a way to slow down Christmas and make it last.

Now let's join ErikaNarci, and Andrea and get to the last Friday Favorites for 2016.

(wearing one of my favorite plaid popovers - on super sale, made of the softest flannel EVER)

Having my mom and dad here with us for a week was definitely a favorite!!! There is almost always laughter in the house when they are here with the kids home. The kids love to make them laugh and they love to be entertained. It's a match made in heaven.

And because you all know what it's like trying to get a good picture out of a group, here are the "out takes"πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It's not just people with little kids battling trying to get the perfect shot. I wish I could tell all you mama's out there that it will get easier, but here's the truth in living color.

This girl is a nut! When the kids were younger my mom would hide the pickle ornament on the tree and the kid who found it got a prize (the other kid usually got a prize too, because you know...grandparents like to keep it even.

I bought a pickle some years ago too and hid it. I told them whoever found it would get an awesome prize. Katie found it and I gave her a kiss on the forehead. I'm pretty sure she was hoping for and would have preferred cash.

As a girl who has never had decent eyelashes I can't tell you how excited I am to have some after using my Lash Boost. I know y'all may be tired of my raving about this stuff, but it seriously works. The top picture was back in the summer (and I'm smiling, hence the beautiful bags under my eyes) before I started using it. The bottom picture was yesterday after 8 weeks. It's CRAZY how long they've gotten and they look even longer in person than in the pictures. The ends are always light looking because they are so long they rub my eyeshadow. LOVE THAT!!!

There's a little over a week (until January 2) to take advantage of the Lash Boost gift with purchase. You receive the Lash Boost, a mini eye cream and cute little cosmetic bag. Lash Boost will of course still be available, just not with the freebies.

If you have questions or want to order, just leave a comment or visit my website.
I'd absolutely love to have you as a Preferred Customer.

And speaking of Preferred Customers...

I sent a sweet treat to all my PC's for Christmas. Our lip shield is a sunscreen for your lips and I made these adorable headbands to hold your hair back when you wash your face.

My favorite Christmas gifts.

I heart Chip and Joanna and I heart Fixer Upper and Katie knows that.
She and Benny got me their book and a mug for Christmas.
I've been talking about starting a collection of these mugs from Starbucks for over a year and just never did it. You can purchase them with different state and cities on them and I think it would be fun to have one from each of the states and cities we've lived in. This girl gets me. I told her yesterday she's the Chip to my Joanna. You see in their story she talks about how he would always encourage her to go for it and in my life that person in Katie. For example this blog. She knew I was thinking about it and stayed after me until I finally jumped in and did it, and thank goodness she did. I am one blessed mama to have such amazing children.

So there's another Friday Favorites in the books.

What were your favorites this week. Tell me about them in the comments. I love when y'all comment and I respond to each and every one. My hope for you is that the New Year will be whatever you want it to and that you are happy and healthy. Enjoy celebrating this weekend and I'll see you in 2017. WOW...2017!

Love y'all

Basic Black

Ask most any woman if she owns black pants/jeans and black tops of some kind and you'll most likely hear "YES".

I love black, maybe too much. Wait, what am I even saying? No way! But if you ask Katie she'll say I have too much black. Yesterday we were shopping and I picked up a black dress and she told me I already had too much black.
#notreallypossible #idisagree

If you have basic black pieces you can then add lots of other layers to create new and different looks.  Here are two just to give you an idea.

In these two looks I started with my black jeans and a black turtleneck sweater.

For the first outfit I added black booties and a fun poncho. (feel free to admire the vacuum marks in  my carpet #theseareafewofmyfavoritethings)

This outfit is very versatile. You could wear it to work, shopping, girls night, date night or any ol' night.

Next I changed out the poncho for my favorite jean jacket and cheetah flats. Again, you could wear this look for almost any casual occasion.

If you need outfit inspiration all you have to do is go to Pinterest and type in black outfits and hundreds thousands will come up.

If you love black and want to mix it up you can add color or shades of blackπŸ˜‰.

The combinations are endless if you have the basics and make travel much easier.

What are your "go to" colors?
Leave them in the comments and your favorite combinations.

Happy Thursday!

That's What You Call Tired

So last night we had pizza and sat down about 7:00 to play Dominos. If you play an entire game it takes a several hours.

You know that feeling of being so tired you can barely keep your eyes open. Oh my, it's miserable. Have you ever been so sleepy you actually fell asleep in the middle of a game?

Yep, you guessed it. Yours truly was so tired by the time we got down to 4's I FELL ASLEEP waiting for my turn.
Can you even believe it? It was comical. They said, "MOM" and I said "HUH". I knew I was getting sleepy, but didn't think it was that bad.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Everyone say hello to Grandad

After my 1 minute nap I was able to finish the game.

We love to play games and Katie pretty much entertained us the whole time.

Hope you enjoyed your day and managed to squeeze in making some new memories for yourself. This morning we had to take my parents to the airport early to fly back across the country. We had fun while they were here and are so grateful and happy they were able to make the trip out to spend Christmas with us. Now the house will feel lonely for a bit, but thankfully the kids are here a little longer. Once they leave, that's when it will really feel lonely.

Happy Wednesday friends!

The Day After Christmas (And Everythings on Sale)

Christmas night do you find yourself torn between going to bed and staying up so the day doesn't end? Yeah, me too.

How did I blink and these two went from these little cuties, to these big cuties?

We had a relaxing day that consisted of going to church in the morning, eating, unwrapping presents and watching Christmas movies. When your kids get older you trade off the excitement of "Santa" for the gift of sleep. This year was the first year that Santa went ahead and already had all the presents under the tree and there was none of the waiting for the kids to fall asleep and drag things out. It was honestly GREAT.

This stage of young adult "children" makes you feel a little like being in no man's land at Christmas time. What I mean by that is for now the "magic" of Christmas is somewhat MIA, but once grandchildren come into the picture that same magic will reappear.

Okay, so now that the Christmas report is done let's talk about SALES. The day after Christmas sales are almost as good if not better than Black Friday Sales.

Here are a few to get you started.

Loft has several different deals going on starting with 50% off EVERYTHING.
