Hello Wednesday!

Am I the only one???

You just gotta' love the "Most Interesting Man in the World".

Last Tuesday Katie and I went into San Francisco and took a bike tour of the Golden Gate Bridge over to Sausalito with our friends Elizabeth and Isabel.
It was great! The views were incredible and it was a gorgeous day!

I wore my Fitbit and somehow it even kept track of "steps" while on the bike. It said we did
22,037 steps and 90 floors...WOW!!! That's a personal record for me.

So let me give you a little photo recap of our day.

#firstofmanysnapchatsfortheday

Katie got out of school early and we headed for the BART to go into the San Francisco.

The orange line represents the path we would be riding our bikes on . It's approximately 8 miles.

We got our beautiful helmets on and were ready to go!
P.S. You'll note Katie and I have on our baseball hats...there was no way I was putting on a helmet that had been on who knows who's head.
#nowaynohow

We stopped along the way to see a few different landmarks.
The Palace of Fine Arts is located in the Marina District. It was originally constructed in the early 1900's.  The original structure was not made with materials to stand the test of time and  had to be demolished except for the steel structure and completely restored.

It was absolutely gorgeous!

It's surrounded by beautiful homes.

Back on the bikes and heading for the Golden Gate.

Great mother/daughter day!!!

Stopped for a few quick pictures on the bridge.

The day was filled with Snapchat's

Once we got across the bridge we planned to get on a ferry and bring the bikes back across.
We weren't alone.  There were literally HUNDREDS of people waiting to do the same thing.

We had to wait over an hour for a third ferry before it was our turn.

Thankfully it was a beautiful day to sit in the sun and wait.
Our turn finally came and we got on with our bikes. It was incredible to watch everyone bring so many bikes on.

What they failed to mention was that we had to take our bikes up a flight of stairs to get off...say what??? You've got to be kidding me???
They fold down a tiny rail at the side of the stairs and you roll your bike up.
Sounds easy enough, right? NOT...thankfully they have some guys who get behind the bike and help you and push it up.

See the yellow line to the left of the black line? That's what you push your bike on...yikes!

So how did we reward ourselves at the end of this excursion?

One word...
GHIRARDELLI
Let me just tell you that they have the BEST dark chocolate hot fudge.
We're not talking regular ol' hot fudge.
This stuff is intense.
#iwantsomenow

We earned every single calorie!!!!

This is one of my favorites shots. Looks like a postcard.

Before we got on the BART to head back home we went by the hotel where our friends were staying to pick up their luggage to go home with us. Her husband was staying in the city for a conference. Here's a picture I took from their room.

What a great view of San Francisco at night with a beautiful sunset.

It was a perfect day, filled with lots of fun memories!
I wonder what we'll do the next time they visit?

Hope your having a great week so far.

Life Lately

Happy Monday friends!
Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend and the bunny found all your peeps.
#nopunintended

For years and years when we lived in Virginia I hosted Easter at our home for my parents, several aunts, uncles, cousins and my cousins kids. We usually had 12-20 people and we loved it. It always included an Easter egg hunt for the little's and was big fun for everyone.

I really miss those days and being able to be with family for all the holidays. We were so blessed to be able to do that for the first 14 years of Benny's life and 12 years of Katie's. Now that we live on the other side of the country and Benny is in college in Tennesse our Easter holidays look much different, but one thing remains the same...the bunny always finds Katie!
#andBennytoo

Sometimes we'll celebrate with friends, but sometimes we keep it simple and just do our own thing. This year was one of those "simple" years.
After church Katie, Kent & I went to lunch and then headed home so Katie could go to work.
Kent and I then spent part of the afternoon just running a few errands and enjoying some down time.

We ran outside and managed to get a few pictures before heading off to church.
#daddysgirl

What happened to my little girl in smocked dresses?
The dress I'm wearing is old, but if you click herehere or here there are several similar options.

This is what 23 years of marriage looks like♥
#lovethisguy

We love a good selfie.

How cute are these three?
#youthgroupfriends

I still miss having Benny in our pictures, but this is the new normal for us.
#loveyouBenny

We stopped by Starbucks to see Katie at work and grab a drink. Apparently she can both take your order and tell a plane which runway to land on
#hahahahahaha

On Saturday, Katie and some friends threw a surprise party for their friend Sean's 18th birthday.

My kitchen was turned into a bakery
#kidslovecupcakes

Happy 18th Sean!!!

Great group of kids!

#ithinktheylikedthecupcakes

I had to throw this in. We had a delicious dinner Thursday night before our friends had to leave Friday morning. This is a big batch of ribs and I just had to send a picture to Benny...he loves ribs.
#maybehemissesmycooking

And one last picture

This made me chuckle. I came downstairs yesterday and found Kent's Easter basket candy on the counter like this. It's no wonder Benny is studying to be an engineer.
#appledoesntfallfarfromthetree

Hope you had as much fun during your weekend as we did...I can't believe it's already Monday again.
Time to get to work taking down the Easter decorations.

What a GREAT week!!!!

Image result for friday ecards

WOW!!!
What a fun week I've had!!!
In fact, so fun and busy I just haven't had time to think about Friday Favorites.

We had some friends visit this week which was fun just in itself, but then add a couple of outings we took into the mix and it just gets better.

For now I'll just leave it at that, but next week I'll show you lots of pictures and tell you about the things we did.

It's a gorgeous day here and Katie has a lot going on this weekend so it's time to get busy and get back to our normal life.

AND if you don't already know it...
It's
NORDSTROM TRIPLE POINTS
through tomorrow when you use your Nordstrom credit card. So if you've been eyeing something(s) at Nordstrom, buy it today or tomorrow and earn three times the points toward your next reward certificate.
#chaching

I hope you Easter weekend is filled with joy and you take time to remember the reason we celebrate and have HOPE in this crazy world we live in.

Show and Tell Tuesday

                      Time for some Tuesday fun

It's Show & Tell Tuesday!   Twice a month Andrea over at Momfessionals hosts a link up for bloggers to show & tell ya something.  Today's theme is all about sharing our life's mixed tape.  So, thinking back over our life, what songs would we associate with certain time periods.

Now if you're like me, you can barely remember what you listened to yesterday so I wasn't really quite sure how'd I'd ever pull this off. Once I started thinking about it though I was able to remember more than I thought I would.

#beforechestwaxing

In the late 70's the Bee Gee's had the song Tragedy come out.
I can't hear this song even today without thinking of my brother and our version of that song.
When you and your "little brother" are only 13 1/2 months apart you become partners in crime for life.
When the song said "Tragedy when you lose control and you got no soul" these 2 elementary schoolers tweaked it a bit...
"Tragedy when you lose control in your toilet bowl".
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
#keepinitreal
Are you singing that in your head now? And I apologize for ruining that song for you now every time you hear it. I have to tell you my kids got a HUGE kick out of that story when I shared it years ago.

Ok, I promise we didn't deface any other songs, so lets move on.

Starting in late elementary school and middle school I'd have to say MJ...
I can't hear songs off the Michael Jackson Thriller album without thinking about my friend Erin or my cousin Angie. It's funny how music can take you right back to a place in time.
And if PYT comes on the radio like it did last week when Kent and I were in the car, you'd better believe I'm dancing in my seat and belting it out. It just makes me happy! (and Kent just looks at me out of the corner of his eye and wants to shake his head)

Same goes for Lionel Richie.

Moving on to high school. I'd have to say Chicago would be one of my anthems. Love them to this day and some years ago Benny was tuned in enough to that, he got me a Chicago CD. I was thrilled not only with the CD, but that he was actually paying attention to me.
#againlovethatboy

Dionne Warwick and Friends came out with "That's What Friends Are For" during my high school years and this one floods memories back for me when I hear it too.

Of course who can't identify with Grease? This is one that I've passed on to my daughter. Again, I can't hear a song from this album come on the radio and immediately become happy and start singing along.
#lovemesomejohntravoltaandolivianewtonjohn

.

So moving on to college...
Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation
This immediately brings pictures to my mind of a show we did in college called Singarama.
Oh what fun we had all those late nights practicing for it.
#memoriesforsure

Alabama
The first concert I went to was Alabama. A group of friends on the lawn at an outdoor ampitheater. We had a ball!

College days also bring back memories of the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy"
This became a catch phrase for a lot of the late 80's and early 90's.

Time to pick up the pace.
The 90's were went time really picked up speed.
Marriage and babies, need I say more?

Kent and I loved Celine Dion but honestly we spent a lot more time listening to this...

#badpicturesorry

WINNIE THE POOH!!!!
He saved us too many times to count. If we got in the car and Benny was crying all we had to do was pop this in and he'd calm right down. My nephew said it was like crack for little kids.

Absolutely love Michael Buble.
Feeling happy? Feeling sad? Feeling romatic?
He's got you covered.

I'm not sure who loves Maroon 5 more. Me or Katie.
Let's face it, their music is great and Adam Levine is so pretty...yes, pretty.

This week you'll find me listening to Thomas Rhett.
Not only do I like his music, but he holds a special place in my heart because he graduated from my college and now the same one my kids are choosing to attend.

If you haven't given him a shot yet, do it!
You won't be sorry!

What songs hold special memories for you? Do we share any of the same ones?
Let me know in the comments section below. I love hearing from you!!

Happy Tuesday! Time to get bundled up and head into the city for our bike tour.
