Browsing the Bulls Eye

Friday I went into Target to pick up some things and decided to take a stroll through the women's clothing. I hadn't done that in quite a while. Well let me be the first to tell you that they have got some really cute things for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.

I picked up several tops to bring home and try on. Yesterday I got an email from Cartwheel that all Mossimo Clothing is 20% off, so what's a girl to do but go back for more. I actually re-bought the same tops I picked up on Friday and got the discount and managed to find a couple more to bring home for myself and Katie. That girl is so lucky to have a mama who shops for herπŸ˜‰. I've got a stack of jeans/colored jeans on her bed waiting for her when she comes for spring break at the end of next week and now there are several shirts too.

I had looked at this top in the store a couple of weeks ago and thought it was cute. That was confirmed when a friend of mine was wearing it the other day and when I asked where she got it, she said Target. Then I knew it had to be the same one I had looked at. I brought it home in gray. I didn't see the black and silver striped one in store, but it's super cute in this picture. All you girls out there who purchased faux leather leggings this year might want to get this to carry you into spring.

Some of these items I didn't see in the store, but I'm going to order them to see how I like them. I also forget when I go a while without checking the website that Target has a ton of things online that aren't offered in store. A lot of the items are great copies of higher priced counter parts in other stores.

I love this cross front tee with a high low back. I got it in black and gray. The short sleeves are a little longer and are a great balance for the shirt.

This tee has a raw hem and is made of super soft material. I got the rose color and it has a washed, dyed look.

This is another top that is super soft and available in several colors. The material is so flowy and hangs beautifully.

I love these camo pants. They are a muted camo which is exactly what I've been trying to find. They are also a skinny leg unlike the the other ones I had previously ordered. I haven't tried these on yet, but if they fit I think they'll be better for me because they'll probably look better rolled up.

Some of these shoes I saw while in the store and some I across when I was on the website. Again, they have great trendy shoes for a really reasonable price.

Oh yeah, and not that anyone wants to think about this yet, but swim suits are BOGO at Target this week.

If you haven't visited your local Target or checked out what they have to offer online you really should spend a little time browsing. They have some great on trend finds at really reasonable prices.

Hope you're having a good week so far. I'm enjoying the sun!

I Have A Blush Crush

I find a weekend wrap up is much harder to do when you don't have kids at home. We aren't running around from place to place squeezing in games, parks and parties. We had a great weekend though. The sun was out both days and that made us want to be out of the house so we did our typical running here and there and enjoyed being in the sun with the bright blue sky. I am finding myself with a pretty major case of spring fever and really want the temperatures to get up into at least the mid 70's.

From everything I've been seeing it looks like THE color for the upcoming Spring and Summer seasons is BLUSH.

I went shopping last week and found several cute tops and a sweater in blush that came home with me. I'll try to share them with you later this week. In the meantime I've made it really easy on you and found a lot of fun blush colored items you just might want to look at and maybe even grab for yourself. Click on the corresponding numbers (affiliate links) below the pictures to be taken right to each item.

The blush colored booties are by Lucky and very similar to my favorite pair that I wear almost daily. I think they are absolutely adorable and will be great for carrying your jeans from winter to spring.

A blush tee pairs perfectly with your favorite jeans...blue or white. Is the perfect item to be topped by an olive military jacket, jean jacket or gray sweater.

A blush colored purse or cross body bag will freshen up all your spring outfits and blush colored jewelry will be the perfect way to work a little pink into your outfits

Trying my hand at this fashion blogging thing has several personal challenges for me.

*I'm still working on my selfie game and really would like to find a friend who wants to help me with photographing outfits.
*I have a hard time with change anyway, but especially switching seasons before it's really time.
*Buying spring clothes when what I really want to buy is all the bargains on the clearance racks. It has always driven me nuts how retailers rush you from one season to the next. I mean it's Valentine's Day, you just ate an entire box of chocolate, and now you're supposed to try on bathing suits??? That math just doesn't add up.

What's on your spring wish list? Have you started adding any trendy accessories or new pieces of clothing to your closet to get ready for spring?

Hope you week gets off to a great start!

Friday Favorites #46

I can't believe this is already the last Friday in February and next week will be March!!!
WHAT?!?!?!

Time is truly flying by and this week did too.

As usual I'm linking up with some other bloggers to share all our Friday Favorites. Be sure to use the links at the bottom and hop over to see what made their lists.
~one~

I posted these 2 pictures on social media this week. This trick with your tubes of product will easily add about a weeks worth of use to the life of it. Just cut it, use a Q-tip to get it out and then slip the top over the bottom.

If you use the REVERSE regimen from Rodan + Fields, after you finish using the toner on your face take the same cotton applicator and rub it on the back of your hands. If you have brown spots appearing on them, it will help lighten those and why waste any of your toner?

~two~

I may be the only person to get excited about this, but I cleaned my oven this week and it looks so pretty. I almost hate to use it. It's the little things in life that bring me joy my friends. Don't get me wrong. If Kent shows up with a big ol' piece of jewelry I'm going to be giddy, but a clean oven makes me pretty happy too.

~three~

I made these adorable sheep cookies for the ladies in my core group at bible study. The conference I went to last weekend was for leaders and focused on shepherding and I wanted to remind them that I am here for them and want to be effective and caring in trying to lead them.

This utility jacket is an all around favorite, versatile piece. I think almost every blogger I read has one just like it or very similar. I broke down and bought it in January (and if I'd only waited) it's now 40% off.  I've never seen it on sale before. Moral of the story is if you've been looking for one of these you'd better strike while the iron is hot. It runs a little big, so size down. This jacket is the perfect weight for seasonal changes, sitting in the movies or a restaurant, has an adjustable string to adjust the waist, and it's long enough to cover your backside, which I personally love.

~five~

This right here is just plain funny! (And true) I saw it on Facebook yesterday and busted up laughing. Possibly because I may or may not have had these jeans and totally had flash backs to college wearing these along with my white Reebok high tops.

So if you are now having flashbacks of huge permed hair, big bangs, tons of hair spray and wearing your acid washed jeans with your Reebok high tops then you really should probably consider contacting me and ordering an eye cream.πŸ˜‰

Don't let your eyes tell your age.

~six~

I mentioned earlier this week that I was in mourning after finishing all 9 seasons of One Tree Hill.
This was a quote I heard while watching recently and I also remember it sticking with me the first time I watched it a couple of years ago with Katie. What a true and beautiful thought.

~seven~

Katie had this on her Snapchat story last week and made me feel so happy. I love to send them things at school that I think they might enjoy. I sent her a bunch of random stuff (as you can plainly see) but the main thing was a new bracelet.

I love all the different sayings, thoughts and inspiration that you get on these bracelets and that you can wear them in multiples, stacked.

WOW! I had a lot more on my favorites than I thought I was going to when I started. I guess you could say it was a good week.

Hope yours was as well and you are ready for the weekend!

Easter Option

I decided I'd better post about this top before it sells out. I ordered and it came a couple of weeks ago and I just haven't posted the pictures. I actually took this one back and ordered it in a x-small but haven't tried it on yet...I'm lazy that way.

I'm thinking this might be good for Easter since you can never tell what the weather is going to be. It would also look really cute with white pants or white jeans. I'm wearing my black Old Navy Pixie pants in this picture but I think the flowers are really navy. Lucky for me I just bought a pair of navy ankle pants.

This color is different from most of the earth tones I wear and will be perfect for early spring. The peplum bottom is also a huge trend (along with all the ruffles...everywhere).

I like the weight of this top and the v-neck. The shape of my face does better with a scoop neck or v-neck. It's light weight, but with the long sleeves you can start wearing it in early spring when you aren't ready to pull out short sleeves or even sleeveless and I don't about you, but once the weather changes and restaurants and retailers start pumping up the AC, I'm always cold.

I would have liked to have tried this in a petite, but unfortunately it wasn't available. The sleeves are a tad long, but hopefully the x-small will help with that. So what do you think of this combo? Yes? No? Have you started thinking about what you'll be wearing for Easter and spring?

Guess what tomorrow is...Fri-YAY!!!

Denim, Coral and Camo

Here are a couple of new pieces I've ordered recently. Each piece stands alone and can be worn in multiple combinations, but put them together for a fresh, trendy look. I love Free People clothing. The easy going boho look is cute and casual as well as comfortable. There was a time when my style was much more conservative, tailored and even preppy, but in the last 3 or 4 years I've made a style shift. I'm not really sure what brought it about. I think I've just evolved. Anyway I like the look and feel of looser more flowy clothes.

Looking at this top in these pictures I'm not too sure it's really all that flattering. What do you think?
I think it looks cute under the jacket though.

These camo pants are made by Wit and Wisdom. I have a couple pairs of jeans made by them and they are really comfortable. I ordered my normal size, but I think in this pair you might want to size down. They are already on the generous side and once they stretch out I think they'll be too big. They come in a petite and I had to roll these up about 4 times so if you are on the shorter side like I am, you might consider ordering them in petite.
OH...And P.S. the booties are on sale!

This Kendra Scott necklace is the perfect piece. It can stand alone or is also a great necklace to layer.

We've made it half way through the week. Hope it's going just the way you planned.

Happy Wednesday!

Random Thoughts On Tuesday

So I mentioned before that Katie had gotten me hooked on One Tree Hill over Christmas break. Anyway I'm pretty sure I continued watching and she went back to her life as normal. Ummm, thanks for that Katie.

I finished the last episode over the weekend and now I'm all like...

It's like I had to say goodbye to my friends. I'd been watching it everyday on my elliptical and it really motivated me to get my butt upstairs and get my workout on. Of course I wasn't just watching it when I worked out, I was squeezing it in whenever I could. Now I'm trying to figure out what to start next. I've heard a lot of people like Gossip Girl and Heart of Dixie. So if you have a favorite, shout it out in the comments and maybe it will become my next addiction.
#sorrykent #netflixwidower

So here's how you would find me pretty much  on any given morning if you were to just show up to my front door. Sitting in the corner of the sofa, in my jammies, wrapped in...what else? My blardigan, with my computer on my lap. This is how I start every.day.

Have you heard of Pieology? Well it's a pizza place and a new one is just opening up near us. I found out about a "preview" night that was going on last night and signed us up to go be practice for the staff. We got FREE pizzas. I'd call that a win! Even better than that, we liked them. Of course me being me, I forgot to take a picture until I'd eaten half of my pizza. Typical.

I know I keep talking about the rain here, but seriously...it just keeps coming. There was some big dam that broke, sink holes are opening up on roads, fields are flooded, but on the upside things are beautiful and green.  I'm hoping the hills will stay green longer since it's been so wet.

I think that's about all I've got for you today peeps. I'm linking up with Ashley and Erika for Tuesday Talk. Hop on over and see what they're talking about today.

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap Up and OOTD

Happy Monday my friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I told on Friday I was heading to a retreat for my bible study. We went and it was wonderful. I really enjoyed spending part of the weekend with all these sweet ladies.

Saturday we were waiting for a session to start and I was sitting between Pat and Cleola and got to share a little of my technology knowledge with them for their phones. This was really fun for me because I'm usually the one getting help from my kids. I also got to teach Pat how to take a selfie. So cute!!! These ladies are just so sweet and I love that I get to spend time with them.

I also introduced them to Snapchat and we sent a couple to Katie. I'm not quite sure they knew what to think, but they were good sports and indulged me.❤️

The weather was terrible Friday night and we had all planned to go out for dinner but opted to eat in the restaurant at the hotel. The wind was crazy and combined with rain...well, nobody wanted to be outside.

While this was a really fun and uplifting couple of days and we spent a lot of time sitting, it was still tiring. I guess talking so much and being "on" for an extended period of time just wore me out. I came home and spent the rest of the weekend just loafing.

Now for an OOTD (Outfit of the Day...in case you don't know what that meansπŸ˜‰)

Here's an outfit I wore last week. It was raining yet again and I wanted to be wrapped up so my circle cardigan, aka baby blardigan was just the ticket.

My Old Navy jeans are on REPEAT. I've ordered some of the more expensive jeans but have yet to find a pair I'm willing to splurge on. These ON jeans fit really well and are comfortable so they have won my heart.

Okay, so I'm feeling slightly genius with this little trick. When you are short waisted like I am and want to do the "half tuck" with a tee sometimes it just isn't very flattering because it cuts you in half. Well I just tucked my t-shirt into my pockets and got the same look but it elongated my torso a little. I was too excited and proud of myself. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Happy Monday y'all!!!
