Friday Favorites #54

Whoa Nelly! This week went screaming by and here we are at Friday again and you know what that means. Time for Friday Favorites. You know what is always a favorite? Friday!!!

~one~

Yesterday was my first time to co-host a link up. You know I love to participate in them and do it frequently, but this time was my first time to get to actually be a host. Thanks Allie for asking me to collaborate with you and all the other girls. In case you missed the link up we were talking about our favorite Target finds.

~two~

My friend Elizabeth and I just love to give each other fun little gifts. It's kind of "our thing". Seems whenever we are going to be seeing each other we both end up bringing the other one something. I took her several Easter goodies when I visited and she had this cute Nashville tea towel waiting for me in my room. ❤️

~three~

While visiting last week, I found this in her pantry. Well not this very jar, because I didn't steal her peanut butter. I've always been true to Jif peanut butter, but I'm afraid it's now been replaced in my heart with this deliciousness. I've never been a fan of "natural peanut butter" because of the the texture and what I considered to be lack of taste, but THIS STUFF...it's DELICIOUS!!!

It's primarily available in a few southern states in Krogers and some natural food stores but you can purchase it on Amazon.

Now for the best part. This peanut butter is not only tasty, it is a company that is doing good for malnourished children. This is taken right off their website:

Every time you buy Good Spread, we provide a packet of RUTF to a malnourished child through a partnership with MANA Nutrition.

RUTF stands for Ready To Use Therapeutic Food and MANA is an organization that partners with World Vision. You can go here to read more about this company.

I may or may not have brought 3 jars of this home in my suitcase.

I've read several bloggers and magazine articles that talk about this It's a 10 product. The water where we live has a lot of chemicals in it and is killing my hair. I've never had such dryness even when I used to color and perm my hair. A double whammy! I just ran out of the other product I was using and thought I'd give this a try. I've used it 3 days so far this week and I can honestly tell you that it really does make my hair feel less brittle.

Earlier this week I also did a post on my 10 favorite phone apps. Everyone has their favorites, but sometimes it's fun to learn about new ones you might like.

It pays to have friends that work at the college your kids attend. Every spring the president of the university hosts an event for the graduating seniors and that was this past Tuesday night. My sweet friend Laura sent me this picture of Benny and one of his friends Ethan. (it had been pouring rain)

How can our bearded baby boy be graduating from college two weeks from tomorrow? Benny told me one time when we were talking about how fast his college years were flying by that, "the days are long, but the years are short". I think that applies to everything in life.

Ladies Who Link - Favorite Target Finds

Today's a big day around here at Coast to Coast.

One of my favorite things about blogging is the community I'm now a part of. Since starting my blog I've gotten to know and become friends with quite a few other bloggers. It's really an awesome thing to have these people I've never met, but feel like they are truly friends in my life now.

One of the girls I communicate with pretty much on the daily is Allie. She's a cutie wife, mom to two precious little kiddos , school teacher and the girl behind A Gal Named Al. She's also the hostess with the mostess for Ladies Who Link. A monthly link up where each month has a specific topic. She recently asked me, Trina & Sara from Mom's Coffee Date,  Tara from Mommy In A Nutshell and Holly from Pink Lady if we'd like to join her in hosting and I didn't even have to think about it before responding YES! Allie, Thank you for the opportunity to co-host.

This months topic is your favorite Target finds, so grab our graphic and add your link at the end of this post so we can see what your favorites from the bulls eye are.

I know I can't be the only one who gets a little giddy when walking into Target and even more elated when I stumble upon a great deal.

When Target arrived in Richmond, VA where we lived when my kids were little it was so exciting. They had a food court with a Taco Bell and Pizza Hut in it and we'd meet friends for lunch almost weekly and then shop. Who'd of thought just going to Target would leave such sweet memories. I bet a lot of you mama's out there can totally relate.

Target apparently has a schedule for their markdowns and many of you may have already seen a "pin" similar to this on Pinterest, but just in case you haven't here's some helpful information if you are a die hard bargain shopper.

Did you know the best place to find many of the markdowns is on the ends of aisles and around the perimeter of the store? I always like to cruise the outside of the store looking for deals.

So what are my personal favorite Target finds here of late?

I've already mentioned, Target is hitting it out of the park in the shoe department this spring and here are some of my favorites.

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Target is a great place to shop for basics including tees and I've purchased several new ones this season.

Strappy tees are making their presence known. I love a tee that has a little personality and this one has plenty. The cross front and swingy body elevate it from basic to "hey look at me".

I love this swing tee. The swingy bottom is cute and this one is a little shorter compared to the regular longer body tees you typically find. The fuller bottom is both flattering and forgiving especially if you happen to be on the shorter waisted side. Some of the longer tees that look great on you girls with long torsos just don't do it on us girls who somewhat vertically challenged.

Check out this post for quite a few more cute shirt options from Target.

I think 99% of my sports bras are from Target. Actually mine and Katie's both come from there. They fit great and wear like iron...in a good way😉

This may sound weird, but just trust me on this one. My favorite sheets are these Fieldcrest sheets I get at Target. I wait and do my cruising around the clearance section to find them on sale, but guess what? You don't have to wait, they're on sale right now! They feel wonderful on your skin and are pretty to boot. If you've never tried them, I'm hear to tell ya' that a good set of sheets makes crawling into bed at night that much better.

I was in Target earlier this week (shocking, I know) and they have so many great choices for pillows and home dec these days. It's almost like having a baby Pottery Barn inside Target.

And last but certainly not least, I love the travel size section at Target.

Whether I am actually traveling, wanting to try a new product or looking for stocking stuffers, Easter basket goodies or care package loot this is a great row to hit up.

And I just had to come back and EDIT this post after reading several others who talked about CARTWHEEL...How could I forget to mention it??? I just did a post on my 10 favorite phone apps and naturally Cartwheel was on the list. You can read about it here.

Well that was certainly a lot of information.

So what are your favorite Target items? Share in the comments and let me know what I'm missing and if you're a blogger add your link. Here's the schedule for upcoming dates and topics. We'd love to have you join our party.

Happy Friday eve my friends.

What I Wore Wednesday #4

Good morning and Happy Wednesday. My goodness this week is flying by. I guess all the catching up I'm doing from being out of town is making time seem to pass quickly.

Last night I attended a virtual event for Rodan + Fields and the launch of an extremely exciting new product. After hearing all the benefits of this Active Hydration Serum I literally can't wait to get my hands on it. I don't think there's a single woman (or man for that matter) who couldn't benefit from it. I'll talk more about it in another post. It won't be available to the public for a couple of weeks, but please contact me with any questions and I'll be more than happy to answer them.

Today I'm sharing a few items from Old Navy and shoes from Target. You'll want to be sure to come back tomorrow for Ladies Who Link as we share some of our favorite Target finds.

I bought this combo thinking I might wear it for Easter but it ended up being chilly and rainy so I went a different way.

This little floral top is going to be great this spring and summer on its own and for layering. It's really light weight and slightly fuller at the bottom with a cute keyhole button closure at the back neck.

The white pants are the Pixie pants from Old Navy that come in a lot of colorful options. They have a lot of stretch and are really comfortable with a very reasonable price point. And you know Old Navy has some kind of sale every single day making them a great go to store for basics and trendy pieces.

I had been looking for a pair of sandals like these for a long time and had previously purchased a pair that I had to return after wearing once because they cut my toes. OUCH!

These fit my narrow feet well and come in three colors. I bought the black and the tan. They do have a higher heel (4") but I don't plan on walking any races when I'm wearing them so I can deal with that.

I added my favorite jean jacket since I never leave the house without a jacket if I have on a sleeveless top. You know how every store and restaurant you go in is always cold and I can't stand to be cold. This jacket is truly the most comfortable jean jacket I've ever worn. The denim is super light weight, soft and slightly stretchy. It's an investment piece in my book, but worth it.

Thanks for making time to stop by and see what's going on with me. I'd love for you to subscribe at the bottom or the top right so you can receive posts in your inbox and follow me on Facebook.
I'm really trying to grow my audience to afford me more opportunities to work with companies that might interest you.

Happy hump day friends!

10 Favorite Phone Apps

Remember back in the day when you actually talked on the phone connected to the wall in your house for hours? Okay, some of you youngin's may not remember that, but that was a huge part of my teenage years. I can so vividly remember lying across my bed or sitting in my window seat talking on the phone to my friends and boyfriend for HOURS.

Here's the progression of phones we had in my house growing up that I can remember

And for the record, YES, we still have a land line. Kent would love to get rid of it, but I actually hate talking on my cell phone. I always feel like you can't hear and that I'm talking over the person on the other end.

That brings us to today and most of my people have one of these attached to their hand most of the time.

There are hundreds of Apps available for phones and I'm going to share my TOP 10, in no particular order.

CARTWHEEL

If you aren't familiar with this app and you are a Target shopper you are leaving money in the store. It's supper easy to use and the savings add up. I downloaded it when we were moving Benny in the dorm in August of 2013. Since then it's saved me $496.64.  The key is remembering to check and see what offers are available and/or scanning the items in your cart to see if savings are available. Once you get in the habit it comes second nature.
 FACEBOOK

I'd be really surprised if most people don't have this on their phones. It's a great time filler when you sitting around waiting and also a great way to keep up with friends or run a "virtual business" like I do for my Rodan + Fields.

INSTAGRAM

This is another one that I think a lot of people have and is perfect for sharing pictures with family and friends. It's also another platform for business's run virtually or in brick and mortar form.
Feel free to follow me on Instagram at Coasttocoast2

LIFE360

This app is in my opinion a must have for parents of teens. We make it mandatory that our kids have it on their phones (as long as we are paying the bill😉). It shows you their location. I tell my kids it's a safety net and that's how I really view it. When our kids lived at home and were first driving we had an agreement that they would let us know when they were coming and going from places. An app like this allows you to make sure they've gotten where they were going should they forget to notify you. Some people may feel it's "stalkerish", and that's fine, but if you've ever lost someone to a car accident, particuarly a teen who didn't show up where they were supposed to be, an app like this gives you an idea of where to start looking. It's not a pleasant thought, but our family has lived this. (not with my kids, but my cousin)

MAP MY WALK

I love this app when I'm out walking because I'm usually trying to go a certain distance. It tracks how far you've gone and tells you at each mile. It also tells you your pace and if you happen to be competitive with yourself like I am then you'll love this feature. The app also approximates the calories burned, but honestly I'm not so sure how accurate that feature is.

PICSTITCH

I use this app for making picture collages to share on social media. This one is really easy to whip out a collage to share on Facebook, Instagram or even a blog.

SHOPKICK

I introduced some of you to the Shopkick app in a previous post here. This is another app that's easy to use and just a matter of remembering to check and see what stores have kicks available or scans to earn kicks.

You "open" the app when you walk into certain stores and then receive "kicks" (aka points). Once you accumulate enough points they can be redeemed for gift cards. You can also get points by scanning items in various stores. You should really check it out. I've already gotten a $25 gift card to TJ Maxx and I'm currently working towards a $250 Tory Burch gift card. That will make for an awesome SPLURGE!!!

I need 62,500 kicks and I currently have 30,329. It's going to take a while, but I'll get there. You can get kicks for inviting friends, so if you're interested in trying it out please feel free to use my referral link and help me get there even faster.

SNAPCHAT

Snapchat would be at the top of the list if I was ranking them. I love it for keeping in touch with my kids. Katie and I "snap" everyday. It's great! Benny's even getting better about sending me occasional snaps. I also have several friends local and who live far away and it's a wonderful way to stay connected with them.

You can friend me if you like. My name is AQUAMOM and I'm trying to get better at putting things on my story.

SAFEWAY

I think most grocery stores now have savings apps and they are a great way to see what's on sale and stock up. The truth is that I only buy things 99% at Safeway that are on sale. You can save a lot of money just by checking weekly and stocking up on items you know you and your family will use.

PINTEREST

I really doubt I need to tell you what this one is about. I love having it on my phone so I can see my pins when I'm out shopping, be it for groceries, fashion, or crafting ideas.

This is of course not all the apps I have, just my favorites. Do you have all of these apps on your phone? Do you have some I should check out? Please share in the comments. I'm always looking for things to make life easier.
