Glo Skin Review

Have you heard of Influenster? I don't remember how I learned about it and I wasn't really sure what it was at first or how to describe it. Here's the description according to Google.  Influenster (n.) A community of over 3 million social savvy shoppers that: Stay on top of the latest product news & expert tips. Review products, share honest opinions with brands and the community. Test products for free based on social media influence.

They do this through what they call a VoxBox. An InfluensterVoxBox is a box full of full-sized free products that you get to review and keep. These boxes are often based on a theme but are sometimes a single product or group of products from the same company

I of course love the idea of getting free products to try so I signed up. Before they send you a box you go on the site and complete little surveys called "snaps". I wrote several reviews for products I had used and I think this is something you need to do before they send you any products to try. You can review all sorts of things. Not just beauty related, but also home, food, pet products, etc...

A couple of weeks ago I received an email that I would be receiving a VoxBox in the mail to try and review.

My box contained 2 full size products from a company I wasn't familiar with.
Glo Skin Beauty.
I received a cleanser and a lip stick.

Now you girls know I love my Rodan + Fields so I was a little leery of trying another brands cleanser, but it is actually perfect because before I use my cleansing mask or exfoliator from R+F, I like to first remove my makeup to keep from grinding it into my face. I've been using my Micellar Water for this and still like it but was excited to give this cleanser a try.

I love the packaging and container these products came in. Clean looking and classy. That may sound funny, but just like everything else in life it's aesthetics that usually catch our eye first.

So first off, I love a pump container that can be used with one hand and won't be a mess. This cleanser is very silky and creamy.

It makes a nice foam and has a pleasant, clean smell. Not overwhelming. I really liked the way my skin felt after washing it. Clean and soft and it looked brighter. So I really liked everything about it, but I feel like it's more than I'd pay for something I'd be using as a "pre-cleanser". I'll stick to my Micellar Water at a much more affordable price.

I have been on the hunt for a new lipstick and so I was thrilled to receive one to try. I don't know about you, but finding a good color for my lips is a real challenge. I find one I like and wear it forever or until they quit making it. This lipstick is a creamy, matte finish and so I like to put a gloss over it, but it goes on and stays on well. Even better than liking the lipstick itself I love the container...it's magnetic so the top goes right on and you don't have to worry about it coming off in your purse.

This color is called Pillow Talk...ooh-la-laπŸ˜‰ I'm currently keeping it in my purse and using it frequently.

Are any of you "Influensters"? Are you interested in joining a community where you can review, read reviews and try new products? If so, this just might be for you. This is not a sponsored post for Influenster, just an informative, sharing post.

What are your thoughts on these products? I'd love to know or tell me if you've even heard of them or tried them.

Disclosure:
"I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes".

Some Of My Favorite Accessories

Accessories can make a huge difference in an outfit. They can take a simple tee and jeans and add some panache and personality to it. Take a little black dress and turn it into something people will remember. I have several places I like to shop for accessories, but one of my favorites is Accessory Concierge. They are having a back to school sale and if you use the code ABC123 you will receive 25% off your entire order.

These are some of my favorites that you've seen over and over. I thought it might be helpful to see them with different outfits. Sometimes a bigger necklace can be intimidating if you aren't use to wearing one, but it can also transform a top or dress.

Y'all know me and my bargain shopping ways so I try to order a piece or two whenever AC has a sale. I also like to order for my friends for birthdays, etc...

You can find all the pieces I'm wearing below in the "widget". This isn't a sponsored post but these are affiliate links. Thank you for purchasing through my blog and supporting me.

I hope you'll join me in continuing to think about and pray for all my friends in Texas.

Hating To See It End

I hope all my friends down in Texas are fairing okay with ol' Harvey. According to Insta-stories and an email with one of my blogger friends (Hi Allie) schools been cancelled until next week. The amount of rain they are getting is crazy. I wish it would make it's way over to California and share the love.

Here in Nashville we had a gorgeous weekend. The weather is unseasonably pleasant with cooler temps and  low humidity. Perfect for our little mini family reunion.

My brother and his boys (his wife and daughter had to stay home so my niece could cheer Friday night) arrived Friday about lunch time. While I went to school in Nashville my brother didn't, but he and his wife did live here for a while after they were married so he has a lot of favorites from Nashville just like me. One we share is SATCO and he wanted his boys to experience it so we went there for lunch. Then we split up boys and girls and they did  boy stuff and Katie and I took my mom to do a little shopping.

Friday night we all went to dinner. It is just so hard to believe these two are gown ups. Where did my babies go?

My parents were so very happy to have almost all of us in one place. If Kent, Lorrie and Lauren had been with us it would have been just that much better.

My brother and I are very close. Not only in age, we are 13 1/2 months apart but also in relationship. We never knew life without the each other and have always been great champions for each other. I want to see Benny and Katie have this same kind of relationship and I think that's where they are headed.❤️

I am also so incredibly lucky to be blessed with such a precious friend. We are going to have a great week. Paul is out of town and Kent's at home, so we are having a "girls week" and doing whatever tickles our fancy. We've started trying to binge watch Scandal but I have a hard time staying awake...LOL

Saturday night I cooked dinner for everyone at Paul & Elizabeth's house and we played cards. It was fun and relaxing and we got to visit and I didn't take any pictures but Katie had this one of her and Brandon. Cousin love!

Rush has started at school and Katie is going through that. I'll be happy when it's all over for her.

These two are so sweet and it thrills my heart that they are so in love. Young love is the best.

I picked the perfect time to be in Tennessee. Apparently it and California have traded weather for this time of year for the week. Kent keeps telling me how hot it is over there and we're having the best weather here.

My brother went home to Atlanta yesterday morning and my parents are leaving today and going down to spend a few days with his family before they head back home. Thankfully we're getting ready to hit the Christmas ramp up season and we will all be together again for a visit.

I'm thinking about all of my Texas peeps and praying for safety. Hurricanes are really scary. We lived through Hurricane Irene in Richmond in 2011. Going to bed with no power, pitch black outside and the wind and rain coming down like crazy was a scary feeling. We didn't know what we'd wake up to. There were trees down, school was out for a week and my parents were without power for 9 days. It was not fun.

Happy Monday friends!

Friday Favorites #72

FRY-YAY!!!!

Well the first week of school is under Katie's belt and she's already feeling a little overwhelmed. The poor girlie. I'm so glad I'm not in college these days. I'm pretty sure I couldn't cut it.

I on the other hand am having a ball running around Tennessee and Kentucky and I'm happy to report there are no travel calamities to share. Sometimes being a grown up isn't so bad. Hahaha!

So let's get right to Friday Favorites.

Having fun with this crew in Kentucky. My BFF is a Jazzercise instructor so I got to "jazz" a couple of times while I was visiting her. I got lost during the routine at one point and was doing a little "freestyle" and entertaining Paige...we were on the back row😜

Hello cheap gas!!!! It's the simple things in life that seem to really tickle me. Go figure.

Yesterday two of my very favorites...my mom and dad drove in from Richmond, VA to stay for the weekend and visit. We hadn't seen them since Christmas and that's the longest we've ever had to go. Katie had something for school she had to attend so she couldn't join us, but we'll see her today. My brother and his boys are coming from Atlanta today so we'll have big time this weekend.

Yes, I found another tiara. We went to my friends ADORABLE store in Franklin, TN yesterday and these little hair clip tiara's were calling my name. If you live around the Nashville area and have little ones or need a darling baby gift, you've got to go to The Little Cottage. They also have an online store and Instagram, so check them out!

I finally got to see Benny at dinner last night. I've been in town a week and haven't been able to see him due to him being out of town last weekend and I left for KY before he got back. Erin also got to meet Gram and Grandad last night.❤️

There you have it friends. Short and sweet this week. The weather has been delightful and so has seeing all my friends and now my family. We will have a big time laughing and being together for the next couple days. To say I am blessed to be able to come here for an extended period of time and visit so many people I love is and understatement. Thank You Bubbie aka Kent for being so generous and allowing me to galavant in the south.😘
