Friday Favorites #90

Hey friends! I'm so happy you're here for this weeks Friday Favorites. We've made it through the second week of January. Can you believe it? This Friday even brings a long weekend for a lot of people. It's nice to have another little break after being jolted back into real at the end of the holidays. We had about a day and a half of rain this week and I'm always amazed at just how quickly things start to green up. This is the time of year when the hills become really pretty and I have to tell you it always makes me in a happy mood when things are green. Is that weird?

Leaving this girl at the airport doesn't fall under the "favorites" category, but this "athleisure" look I threw on to take her to the airport does. I wore my favorite Zella capri leggings and Free People Cowl Neck tunic (that I now have in two colors) with my black Nike sneakers. Oh, and we can't forget my new bag😍. We have to pay a dime for shopping bags here so this bag is perfect when I'm running out and don't want to mess with carrying a bag in the store. If I buy something, I can throw it in here and head for the car...for FREE. LOL!

These two loving on each other...definitely a favorite.

Wednesday Kent and I spent the day with each other at doctors appointments. He had to have a "precautionary" test (you can probably do the math), and I had an appointment with an eye specialist to make sure I wasn't developing glaucoma. (which I'm not🙌🏻) I wore some tried and true favorites for all of our running around that included my black skinny jeans, striped sweater (similar), military vest and leopard flats. As Kent and I were sitting in the waiting room waiting for my eyes to dilate, I looked at him and said, "you do realize this is our future...sitting in doctors offices together".😂 #herewego

I ordered this sweater that I affectionately call my "grandpa sweater" after seeing it on several other bloggers. Well, not only is it a great deal at less than $30, but it's also super comfy and guess what else. Yep, cozy. I've worn it twice this week and I'm not even ashamed.

Funny thing about Friday Favorite posts. When I start out I'm somehow not quite sure what shape they will take. Yes, I'm a fly by the seat of my pants blogger. That's something I'd really like to change, but I'm not very good at sitting down and actually planning out posts. If you are a blogger and have advice on that, feel free to leave it. Anyway, this post is turning into more of a review of what I wore this week.

This cardigan from Old Navy is a great alternative to some of the more expensive options. It's nice and thick and just a little shorter, which is good for those of us who are vertically challenged.

On a side note, if you haven't seen Greatest Showman yet, GO! We went last Friday night and LOVED it. Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron both did an amazing job!

Okay, last one. I promise. If you haven't started a collection of Barefoot Dreams cozy items yet, I just have one question. What are you waiting for? I now have 3 different sweaters from them and love each and everyone of them. I gave Katie one for her birthday and she wears it all.the.time.

This cardigan is currently on sale 30% off and I promise, you won't be sorry if you order it...you might however be sorry if you don't.😉

If you aren't already, I'd love for you to follow me on Bloglovin'FacebookInstagram & Pinterest and subscribe for email updates whenever there's a new post.

Have the best weekend!

  1. Ok Cardi Queen, you gotta explain the whole 10 cents purse thing to me because you posted a pic on IG last week with store merchandise in your Barrington tote and I was wondering why the store wouldn't have thought you were shoplifting. As for the comment you made to Kent about doctor's offices, that totally cracked me up! Happy Friday!

    1. Oh Laura! We have to pay 10cents per shopping bag out here. When we first moved it was only at stores that sold food and now it's all stores. So you go into a store, buy something for $100 and they ask "do you want a bag for 10 cents"? Are you freakin' kidding me???? (I think you may have hit a nerve...LOL😂😂😂) Have a wonderful weekend full of free shopping bags!👊🏻XOXO

  2. I love every one of these outfits! I have promised myself no new clothes until I commit to healthier living..womp,womp. And yea for Ken getting "that" test...my dad died from colon cancer at 58 and I'm such an advocate for preventive medicine! Happy Friday!

    1. Thanks Shelly! My grandfather and uncle both had colon cancer so our family is keenly aware of that. I know next month when I go to my annual my dr is going to order one for me now that I've turned the Big 5-0. We'll just consider it the ultimate cleanse...LOL. Hope you have a great weekend!!! XOXO

  4. First things first - you and Kent are NOT going to be spending your days together in doctor's offices! You are healthy and will stay that way! I know KT leaving wasn't fun but knowing she's happy at the other end is such a blessing. I love all of your sweaters, even the grandpa cardi, lol. You have me considering the Barefoot Dreams one but I'm afraid it will be too warm for me. I buy the majority of my long cardis at Old Navy because they're thinner. It's been 80 degrees the last few days which is just insane.
Love that Barrington tote my friend - perfect and gorgeous - just like you!!!

    1. From your lips to God's ears sweet friend! Knowing our kids are happy is most definitely a blessing. I was just doing calf raises 😜on the steps outside of her room and could see all these pics hanging on her wall and all the big smiles in them. I sent her a Snapchat video of them and told her she had a happy life. So the Barefoot Dreams, I wear all of mine like robes around the house every single day and traveling. They are so soft! (they do loose a little softness with wear, but are still great). ON has had great cardi's this year. I need to say enough is enough though...I've developed quite the collection. Loving my tote😍 Have a wonderful weekend seeing your sweet boy! Mwah!!!!

  7. Well, I enjoy seeing what you wore this week and one day I'm going to get the hang of how to snap a reflection of myself in the mirror. :o)) And, yes, your life will likely come to spending lots of time at the Dr. offices. I went with Hubby more times than I care to count last year. Hopefully this year will be better. Happy weekend!

    1. Thanks Lea...You just have to start doing it and take about 100 each time...LOL. The hardest part is the lighting. Here's to a much less dr filled year! Happy weekend to you too! XOXO

  8. I am glad your eyes are ok!! Whew! I feel like some years I am at the DR a lot and others I am not. Like, of course I had to get called back on my very first mammo this year for further scans and thankfully I was OK! Scary, tho! My 67 year old mom had to chime in, oh I've never been called back in all my years (thanks, mom... that made me feel SO much better). But, extra time at the DR is never my cup of tea. Plus, I get doctor anxiety! LOL! But, I guess we gotta take care of ourselves, so it is all good in the long run! I really, really love your airport drop off outfit. Plus, it made me think how I've really been wanting to get a black pair of sneakers lately. You def. had so many cute looks this week!

    1. Thanks Carrie!! Me too...I was a little nervous and kept thinking, I'm too young for this, but reality is I'm not. That's a kick in the seat of the pants...LOL. I'm so sorry that happened for your first (or any) mammogram and um yeah, thanks mom for the encouragement🤪. I've been having mammograms for years and had 2 biopsies. They are always nerve wracking but a necessary thing for our health. That tunic I wore to the airport is such an easy one to wear. I really do love it. (wore it again yesterday) I wasn't sure about the black sneakers at first but I really love them. Hope you have a great weekend sweet girl! XOXO

  9. Lisa, you are crushing the outfit game this week. I am seriously jealous of all your cozy cardigans, and I recently realized that I have like two maybe? I need to step up my game! Was this the week for medical tests because I had some too! Sheesh! I'm glad your eyes are okay! I went to the eye doctor about a year ago and had somehow forgotten how much dilation messes with your vision! I was a mess, haha! Hope you're having a great weekend! xoxo

    1. Well thank you ma'am! I kinda went cardi crazy here of late. Gotta' put the brakes on. Hahaha! Hope your tests were okay. For real about the dilating of the eyes. Not a fan. We're having a very low key weekend and I'm not hating it😉 I hope you're having a great one. XOXO
