One Tunic Two Ways

What do you get when you team up two blonde's, on two different coasts, who both love to shop?
One Tunic Two Ways

When Kellyann and I realized we'd bought the same Cowl neck tunic from Loft during one of their most recent sales, we immediately knew we had to do a collaboration. I have several cowl necks. The weird thing about them is I feel so 1990 when I wear one that I tend to shy away from them, but then when I put one on they are just so flattering there's no denying them.

What's better than seeing a piece styled one way? Seeing it styled two different ways. Isn't that one of our favorite things about blogs? Getting new ideas from each other. It's so easy to fall into the rut of wearing something the same way on repeat and not making the most of the items in our closets. More and more I see and read that we're trying to shop our own closets. Can I get an Amen!

If I've said it once, I've said it at least a dozen times that I love the Lou & Grey line carried by Loft. If you look in my closet, you'll find quite a few of these pieces. They are like wearing a baby blanket. So soft, so cozy, so wonderful, you'll want to wear it everyday. I'm having a hard time not reaching for this constantly. It comes in a stripe and olive (that I'm afraid is sold out) and I'm doing all I can not to hit "add to cart". This top is such a great weight and can easily be layered under a vest or jacket.

I paired my tunic with a pair of Lou & Grey leggings that are a bargain for less than $25. There's a good chance this will be my new travel uniform. I don't know about you, but when I'm traveling I want to be as comfortable as possible but still look cute.

My leopard flats and favorite pink Kendra Scott pendant  were the perfect accessories for making this just a little dressier, but I could have just as easily worn my black Nike's with it for the ever popular athleisure look. Yes, these flats are a little on the pricey side, but I'm telling you I wear them all.the.time. If you've been thinking about getting them, JUST DO IT! I promise, you won't regret it.

So there you go friends. Some of my most loved pieces all paired together for the perfect outfit. Kellyann took a totally different approach and paired hers with pink pants and open toe booties for a super cute look and you just know you could throw on some distressed jeans and a pair of converse or your favorite booties for yet another fun look. The possibilities are endless, so get in there and shop that closet, but first order this tunic.πŸ˜‰ For size reference, I'm wearing the XS. Lou & Grey tends to run a little big.

Head on over to This Blonde's Shopping Bag and see what Kellyann has to say. You won't be sorry. She has the best since of style and finding ways to wear things multiple ways. I've even sent her a picture of something I was considering buying and asked her opinion. It's just crazy to have some of the sweetest friends I've never met. Kellyann and I have so much fun sharing our love of clothing, our families and Halo Top ice cream. #twopeasinapod

Happy Wednesday friends!

Loft Try On Session

Happy Monday friends! Welcome to the last week in January and it's not even a full week. Bring on the month of LOVE.

I went to the mall last week and popped in Loft to try on a few things. They are really killing it with not only sales here of late, but lots of cute things to tempt you. If you see something you like throw it in your cart and use the code MYSTERY for 50% off.

I also want to tell you about these jeans I'm wearing. Honestly, I'm wearing them most days. I ordered them from Nordstrom Rack and they're sold out but here's a very similar pair by the same maker. They are BlankNYC and have the most wonderful stretch and don't bag out. Talk about comfortable. The waistband reminds me of the Wit and Wisdom Absolution Stretch jeans waistband. Anyway, I love these and the last week my Rockstars are feeling a little neglected. Don't worry, I'll be back for them though.

Have you already got something cute in mind to wear on Valentine's Day? I thought this sweater would be perfect. I know a lot of people don't like stripes, but I love stripes and just look at the darling cuffs with button trim. I think my arms a little on the short side, so it doesn't fit me quite as well as it would most of you girls.

I love a bright, sunny color and this one is definitely that. The perfect transition sweater with trendy  bell sleeves and a boatneck. I find a boatneck to be much more flattering than a round or crew neck. The contrast rib trim on the cuffs, top and shoulders make give it more personality. It's a boxier fit, but these days I don't seem to mind that. Give me all the room to breathπŸ˜‰

I guess you've probably figured out by now that I am a lover of cozy sweaters, heck, I'm a lover of all things cozy. I feel like everyone needs a good neutral sweater in their wardrobe and this one could be just that. A really soft knit, with a ballet/boatneck and side slits for easy hanging and movement and fun stitching on the shoulders.

Well I almost didn't try this one on, and wouldn't you know it was my favorite. I should have known it being Lou & Grey I'd fall hard. In case you haven't noticed the blouson sleeves are trending and this sweater has them along with stripes, cute trim and a touch of cashmere in it to make it super soft.

I can't find this one on the website, but I'm sure I will eventually. It would be really cute with a long sleeve tee under it. It was really soft. Edit: Found it!!! HERE

I've been loving all the capes/poncho's I keep seeing on others so I decided to give one a try. I'm not sure, but I don't think it's the best look for me. Maybe I'm too short? Anyway, this is cute and and would be a great travel piece or grabbing for a wrap in the movies or restaurant.

The pictures don't do this little top justice. It was so much cuter in person. The material is the perfect weight and the shirt tail hem would look so cute with white jeans.

Do you LOVE this sweater? I know, I know, I'm so cheesy. I of course had to laugh Friday when I read my blogging sisters blog and she was wearing this sweater. (which I love styled over a shirt) I don't know why we don't just order two of everything. Even though this says LOVE, you aren't tied to just wearing it for Valentine's Day, even though it's perfect for that

Thought this skirt was so cute back in the fall when it came out and I still do. I grabbed it to pair with this sweater and it made for a cute little outfit. Add some tights and boots or flats and you're good to go.

I love the idea of skirts, but they don't work great on me due to being so short waisted. This skirt is darling though. It's really hard to tell in the picture but the background is a really pretty gray and I would have loved to put an olive sweater with it, but they didn't have my size. Coral would also be super cute with it.

Now for the most depressing news. I got an email Saturday that our Loft is closing. WHAT??? Say it isn't so. The next closest one is about 30 minutes away. It's doable, but definitely not as convenient.

I'm totally bummed, but I guess if that's the worst thing to happen to me over the weekend, then I did alright. πŸ˜‰

I've also got some exciting news! I finally pulled the trigger and I'm getting a face lift for the blog and also migrating over from Blogger to Word Press. I hear WP allows for more options in design and overall use. I'm a little nervous about having to learn a new platform, but I up for the challenge.

Here's to a great week friends!

Friday Favorites #92 - Makeup Edition

Hey friends! Here we are on the last Friday of January. Wow! I don't know about you, but for me it feels like months since Christmas. I don't mean to be hatin' on January, but I'm not sad to see it come and go. Come on spring! I am such a lover of warm weather and sun that spring and summer are my favorite times of the year.

You girls who have little people at home have so many cute, fun things to make your favorites every week. That's just one of the many reasons I miss having my kiddos here. At least when KT (Katie) is home I have something else to draw on. So for this week, I'm going to share a few new things and some old favorites from my makeup routine.

If I've said it once, I've said it 100 times. THIS.IS.THE.BEST.MASCARA!
I've been using this mascara for as long as I can remember and anytime I go in a store to look for it, if they don't have it I almost go into a panic attack. I'm telling y'all, this stuff is legit. I don't sleep in it anymore now that I use Lash Boost at night,πŸ˜‰ but that was one of the original reasons I fell in love with it. You can sleep in it and it doesn't rub off on your pillow case or sheets and when you get in the shower it comes off without tugging on your eyes. It literally just pulls right off your lashes.

I had read a lot of reviews on the Better Than Sex Mascara and decided to give it a try. Well it couldn't hold a candle to this. No matter how hard I tried it wouldn't thicken up my lashes the way the Loreal does and I can't stand the name.

I have an oily T-zone and I don't know about you, but I prefer to shine in other ways than on my face. Kellyann shared a version of this product that she likes to use and I knew I needed to try it. It really does a great job of keeping the shininess to a minimum. I pair it with my Avon Magix (another one I've been using forever) and together they are a mighty 1, 2 punch!

I started using this powder within the last year and guess what? I love it. I've never been a heavy foundation wearer and since I do have oily areas I prefer a powder over a liquid to help combat that. This powder wears well, applies beautifully and has built in SPF20, which I love.

The retractable brush has wonderful, soft bristles and I like that you can even go ahead a dip it in a little powder, retract it, put the lid on and throw in your purse for a touch up.

I've been using a Mac all-in-one highlighter/bronzer for about a year. I really like having a combo product that isn't a straight up bronzer. Sometimes with a bronzer it's a little hard not to go overboard. Mine is discontinued but I'll try this one when I run out and need a new one.

A mini version of this highlighter came in a Sephora Play box I got. I liked it so much I used it all up and got a full size. My favorite use for it is under my eyebrows on my brow bone in in place of a highlighter eye shadow. I also dab a little in the corner of my eyes and down the center of my nose. Try it, you'll like it.

This sunny little pot is my new favorite product. I actually received it through Influenster. I still love my Rodan and Fields eye cream and use it everyday, but in the morning before I put on my makeup I've been using this. It immediately brightens my under eye area and I feel like it neutralizes the color under my eyes. I think it helps my concealer and powder go on better too. If you aren't familiar with Influenster here's a little about it:
