The Blended Blog Asks - All About Love❤️

I guess before I get to the biggest part of today's post, I should ask you if your team won yesterday? Maybe you were like me and didn't have a team. For me the best part of the Super Bowl is usually the half time show. I saw this show up on a few friends Facebook and Instagram over the weekend and loved it. Justin never disappoints. (but I was like, "Justin, why'd you buzz your head?"😭)

It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for The Blended Blog Asks. Here are the questions for this month.

1. Kisses or Hugs?

I think I'd definitely say HUGS. You can hug (most) anyone, but I don't think the same rules apply to kissing.

2. Candy or Flowers?

Flowers have less calories, but I sure love me some chocolate. One of my families favorite Valentine treats are Oreo Truffles. You can find out how I make them here. 

3. Baking or Cooking?

I like to bake and cook, but if you're baking then there's most likely a bowl to lick and I'm all about that.

 

4. Do you remember your first kiss?

Well of course. But a good southern girl doesn't kiss and tell.

5. Favorite color of Roses?

I'm really not a fan of roses but if I have to pick it would be pink or white.

6. Conversation Hearts, yes or no?

Only for decoration.

7. Do you leave love notes? 

Sometimes when I'm going out of town I'll leave a note for Kent to find and I use to hide them in his luggage occasionally when he would travel for business.

8. Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day?

Some years I do more than other, but this year was a minimal year as far as decorating for Valentine's Day. Just a touch here and there.

I like to make these sweet little bunting/banners for the different holidays. They add a simple touch for seasonal decorating and make a fun little gift for friends. You can see how I make them here.

9. Red or Pink?

Pink

If you follow me on Instagram then you might have seen this sweater the other day. It's the perfect cross of pink and red, more of raspberry. It's nice and soft and and I love the cut of the bottom and 

v-neck. The website says it runs big so I sized down, but I think I'd prefer it in my regular size (small). These tan mules are a great deal from Target. They are a great dupe for a more expensive pair I've seen.

10. Milk, White or Dark Chocolate?

Oh, definitely DARK.

11.  Do you believe in love at first sight?

As much as I hate to say it, no. I do however believe in infatuation at first sight.😉

12. Do you give Humorous or Serious Valentine Cards?

Humorous for sure. I think that's because Kent would likely throw up if I gave him a serious Valentine. That's just not who he is or how he rolls.

13. Favorite Chick Flick or Romantic Movie?

Is there a difference? LOL

14. Stay In or Go Out?

We typically stay in on Valentine's and I make a nice dinner with one of our favorite desserts, but we will go at some point around Valentine's Day for a special night out.

Friday Favorites #93

Hey y'all and Happy Friday and Happy Groundhog Day! Best I can tell that silly groundhog saw his shadow. Doesn't he know we're all ready for spring, not 6 more weeks of winter? Booooo!

I sat down as soon as dinner was over last night to get started on my post for today because that's how I roll. Waiting to the last minute, you know. I decided to call Katie for a few minutes and that turned into a marathon 2+ hour FaceTime session. (read: therapy for a goofy boy)

Well you know I'm going to talk to this girl anytime and for as long as she wants so that meant Friday Favorites got pushed to the side.

So what am I going to share? How about an outfit roundup from the week.

This outfit embodies some of my most favorite and most frequently worn closet staples. I have this sweater in two colors and love them equally. It's no longer available, but this one is a very similar style and feel. These jeans are the latest addition to my ever growing denim collection and have temporarily demoted my Rockstars. GASP! Yep, that means they must be good. Good and stretchy that is, with just the perfect amount of distressing. And if you'll notice, my beloved leopard flats managed to make an appearance almost every day this week.

I was apparently feeling super casual this week, which I'm noticing is a trend for me lately and kinda new. I gotta' say, I'm not hatin' it. My Converse seem to be making a run (hahaha...I'm cracking myself up) for moving to the front of the shoe rotation. For some shoes I really wasn't sure about, they've proven themselves worthy of a place in my closet. You know a striped tee is a closet must, and I've really been loving this lighter wash pair of jeans too. These are Vigoss which is another brand I really love. Nice and stretchy without the baggy bottom. I wish I'd shared this jacket with y'all back in the fall when I got it because #itsthatgood. So soft and warm. Feels like a sweatshirt, but looks like a really cute Moto jacket. 

Alright friends, if you have a Loft outlet near you then you're going to want to get over there and look for this top. (or one similar) You know I'm always yammering on about my love for the Lou & Grey line in LOFT. Well, the Loft Outlet has there own version called Loft Lounge and I swear it's the same material. I wish they had an online store I could link to. I have this same sweatshirt/tunic in 3 colors. One actually is Lou & Grey and the other two are from the outlet. I love every single thing about them. The v-neck, tunic length, side slits, cozy material, a little dressier than a regular sweatshirt. I'm telling you they are darn near perfect. And yes, I'm wearing the same jeans and my flats A-GAIN!

 And yesterday my "new uniform" made another appearance for bible study. If you missed mine and Kellyann's collaboration on Wednesday, you can see it here. Honestly, I wouldn't have been any more comfortable if I'd just worn my pj's to class. My sweet ladies were so kind and said they thought my hair was cute up. I told them it was called "being in a rush". 

So there you have it. A quick look at my style this week. Are you game day ready? Do you even care? We don't really have a dog in this fight, but we're going to a Super Bowl party none the less. #anyexcusetoeatpartyfood
