What I Wore Wednesday #5


Hey y'all and hey Wednesday. Just a quick update...
We leave a week from today to go back to Nashville for Benny's graduation. 
INCREDIBLE!!!
It's next to impossible to believe that at the beginning of June he will be working like a real "grown up", paying his own way and no longer in school. Seriously, mind blowing!!!

Okay, now back to what I wore...

I actually haven't worn this top yet because the goofy weather out here in California just won't warm up. It'll make a brief appearance and be almost warm and then play a nasty trick and go back to being in the 60's and dreary. Lucky for me after graduation we are headed to the beach!
And everyone said "HOORAY"!!!!!

This cute little cold shoulder top will definitely be packed and ready for warmer days and nights. I don't typically gravitate toward orange, but it's just so warm and sunny looking that I couldn't resist. Imagine it with tan skin😀 If orange isn't for you though, your in luck because it's also available in blank or white and BONUS, it's on SALE.




I love the lace detail at the top of this shirt. That combined with the cold shoulder cut outs make it a double trend winner. It's super soft and will look just as cute with jean shorts as jeans or you could pair it with a cute pair of white or black capri's to dress it up. I paired it with my frayed hem jeans (with built in sculpt, which I love❤️)  that I find myself grabbing probably more than I should. You know how when you get a new pair of jeans your old ones become the ugly step child and get demoted. Not to worry, I'm sure I'll circle back to them.


I thought my lace up block heels would be fun paired with this little combo, but my leopard flats,  or new wedges would look equally as cute and of course my favorite leopard sandals with shorts will bring a real summer vibe.


I tried a front tuck but they really aren't a short waisted girls friend. You taller girls could definitely do it.




I wear these bracelets from Kinsley Armelle almost daily. They are some of my favorite pieces to finish off my outfits. Adding Touches Of Spring To Your Home

Thankfully spring has sprung and with it a breath of fresh air. 

I don't know about you, but when spring arrives and the days begin to get longer and the weather is prettier, I just want to open the doors and windows and usher out the winter.  I'm ready to freshen things up and add touches of spring to my home. Do you change things in your home seasonally? You don't necessarily have to make major changes to bring in spring but some simple touches in the main rooms of your home are nice.

I was recently looking for some new ideas and inspiration when I came across the Arhaus website. The Arhaus Instagram also has a ton of inspiration and unique items that caught my eye and made me take a look around our living area for ways to brighten it up.

We bought a new sectional in the fall and went with a lighter, neutral color for the fabric. I wanted to  to have the versatility of being able to change out accessories seasonally and altar the mood of the room without having to totally redo it.

Starting with a neutral backdrop means there are lots of ways to add seasonal touches to a room.
One of the best ways is changing out your pillows.

Remove the warmer, winter colors and add lighter springy hues.

Put away the heavy winter blankets and add a soft, pretty throw in a lighter fabric and colors.



Scattering small items throughout your space on tabletops and shelves, such as birds nests are an  easy way to bring the outdoors inside.


Spring branches in large vases are a great way to brighten up a table or corner.


If you've paid much attention when your looking in catalogs or home decor stores, you may have noticed a lot of succulent arrangements. I currently have a love affair with succulents (of the artificial variety) since I can't kill those. Greenery and topiaries are also readily available in home dec stores and can be added throughout your living area as an easy way to freshen it up.


I love a room with a lot of light and natural light is my first choice. But if your rooms don't have a lot of windows, adding light fixtures is the perfect way to achieve a brighter space. Changing out dated  lighting is a quick and easy way to give your room a face lift.


This is a gorgeous pendant light from Arhaus that caught my eye when I was browsing their website. They have a great selection of pendant light fixtures to choose from. 

Maybe you'd like to try changing out your area rugs. I currently have a dark oriental under my kitchen table but think a rug made of natural fibers and a lighter color might brighten up the eating area.


If you have upholstered chairs with slipcovers, changing them to a lighter fabric is another great way to give a room a facelift without breaking the bank.

Pretty, Feminine, Floral

Good Monday morning! 
I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for whatever this week might have in store. I'm not going to bore you with an weekend re-cap except to say it was a good weekend and we just did kind of our normal empty nest, do what you want, when you want routine.

I've rounded up some beautiful floral fashions for you today. They are "springing" up all over the place. 

I found this cute floral tank and added it to my closet to update my spring and summer look.


And I've ordered this dress (now sold out) to possibly wear for Benny's graduation.


There are so many ways to incorporate this trend into your own style. If a floral dress isn't your thing, maybe think about a pair of "statement" shoes in a floral. Adding them to a solid dress will add an unexpected pop and think about mixing a floral sandal with a striped top. Pattern mixing is such a fun way to play with your clothes.

Delicate floral blouses are beautiful and fresh when paired with white jeans or capris.

Add a floral robe to jazz up your lounge wear and make you feel pretty while drinking your first cup of coffee.

How about a cute floral cover up for the beach?

I would love to add all of these to my closet but I think that would be flower over load. I love them all but I think I'd have to say the Tahari floral shift dress with the bell sleeves is probably my favorite (#12).

Friday Favorites #54

Whoa Nelly! This week went screaming by and here we are at Friday again and you know what that means. Time for Friday Favorites. You know what is always a favorite? Friday!!!

Yesterday was my first time to co-host a link up. You know I love to participate in them and do it frequently, but this time was my first time to get to actually be a host. Thanks Allie for asking me to collaborate with you and all the other girls. In case you missed the link up we were talking about our favorite Target finds.

My friend Elizabeth and I just love to give each other fun little gifts. It's kind of "our thing". Seems whenever we are going to be seeing each other we both end up bringing the other one something. I took her several Easter goodies when I visited and she had this cute Nashville tea towel waiting for me in my room. ❤️

While visiting last week, I found this in her pantry. Well not this very jar, because I didn't steal her peanut butter. I've always been true to Jif peanut butter, but I'm afraid it's now been replaced in my heart with this deliciousness. I've never been a fan of "natural peanut butter" because of the the texture and what I considered to be lack of taste, but THIS STUFF...it's DELICIOUS!!!

It's primarily available in a few southern states in Krogers and some natural food stores but you can purchase it on Amazon.

Now for the best part. This peanut butter is not only tasty, it is a company that is doing good for malnourished children. This is taken right off their website:

I've read several bloggers and magazine articles that talk about this It's a 10 product. The water where we live has a lot of chemicals in it and is killing my hair. I've never had such dryness even when I used to color and perm my hair. A double whammy! I just ran out of the other product I was using and thought I'd give this a try. I've used it 3 days so far this week and I can honestly tell you that it really does make my hair feel less brittle.

It pays to have friends that work at the college your kids attend. Every spring the president of the university hosts an event for the graduating seniors and that was this past Tuesday night. My sweet friend Laura sent me this picture of Benny and one of his friends Ethan. (it had been pouring rain)

How can our bearded baby boy be graduating from college two weeks from tomorrow? Benny told me one time when we were talking about how fast his college years were flying by that, "the days are long, but the years are short". I think that applies to everything in life.

Ladies Who Link - Favorite Target Finds

Today's a big day around here at Coast to Coast. 

One of my favorite things about blogging is the community I'm now a part of. Since starting my blog I've gotten to know and become friends with quite a few other bloggers. It's really an awesome thing to have these people I've never met, but feel like they are truly friends in my life now.

One of the girls I communicate with pretty much on the daily is Allie. She's a cutie wife, mom to two precious little kiddos , school teacher and the girl behind A Gal Named Al. She's also the hostess with the mostess for Ladies Who Link. A monthly link up where each month has a specific topic. She recently asked me, Trina & Sara from Mom's Coffee Date,  Tara from Mommy In A Nutshell and Holly from Pink Lady if we'd like to join her in hosting and I didn't even have to think about it before responding YES! Allie, Thank you for the opportunity to co-host.


This months topic is your favorite Target finds, so grab our graphic and add your link at the end of this post so we can see what your favorites from the bulls eye are.

I know I can't be the only one who gets a little giddy when walking into Target and even more elated when I stumble upon a great deal.

When Target arrived in Richmond, VA where we lived when my kids were little it was so exciting. They had a food court with a Taco Bell and Pizza Hut in it and we'd meet friends for lunch almost weekly and then shop. Who'd of thought just going to Target would leave such sweet memories. I bet a lot of you mama's out there can totally relate.

Target apparently has a schedule for their markdowns and many of you may have already seen a "pin" similar to this on Pinterest, but just in case you haven't here's some helpful information if you are a die hard bargain shopper.


Did you know the best place to find many of the markdowns is on the ends of aisles and around the perimeter of the store? I always like to cruise the outside of the store looking for deals.

So what are my personal favorite Target finds here of late?

 I've already mentioned, Target is hitting it out of the park in the shoe department this spring and here are some of my favorites.

Target is a great place to shop for basics including tees and I've purchased several new ones this season.


Strappy tees are making their presence known. I love a tee that has a little personality and this one has plenty. The cross front and swingy body elevate it from basic to "hey look at me".


I love this swing tee. The swingy bottom is cute and this one is a little shorter compared to the regular longer body tees you typically find. The fuller bottom is both flattering and forgiving especially if you happen to be on the shorter waisted side. Some of the longer tees that look great on you girls with long torsos just don't do it on us girls who somewhat vertically challenged.

I think 99% of my sports bras are from Target. Actually mine and Katie's both come from there. They fit great and wear like iron...in a good way😉


This may sound weird, but just trust me on this one. My favorite sheets are these Fieldcrest sheets I get at Target. I wait and do my cruising around the clearance section to find them on sale, but guess what? You don't have to wait, they're on sale right now! They feel wonderful on your skin and are pretty to boot. If you've never tried them, I'm hear to tell ya' that a good set of sheets makes crawling into bed at night that much better. 


I was in Target earlier this week (shocking, I know) and they have so many great choices for pillows and home dec these days. It's almost like having a baby Pottery Barn inside Target.



And last but certainly not least, I love the travel size section at Target. 





Whether I am actually traveling, wanting to try a new product or looking for stocking stuffers, Easter basket goodies or care package loot this is a great row to hit up.
