What's Up Wednesday - Almost Christmas Edition

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...or at least it will be once we pick my parents up from the airport today.

With such a busy time of year let me see just how many of these blanks for What's Up Wednesday I can manage to fill in. Be sure to check and see what MelShay and Sheaffer are all up to this week.

What we're eating this week...

So far we've had sushi

(picture from Lovely Little Kitchen)
I replace the puff pastry on top with a package of Bisquick Cheddar Biscuit mix made according to package directions and dolloped over the casserole. We all love it.
What I'm reminiscing about...

Can you see the excitement on Benny's face😂😂😂

What I'm loving...

Having my kids home.

What we've been up to...

Getting ready for Christmas...what else😉

I had a cookie exchange Monday night
You can read about that here if you missed it.

What I'm dreading...

What I'm working on...

What I'm excited about...

The absolutely AMAZING results I'm having with my Lash Boost. I am not kidding!!! I LOVE this stuff. I've never had eyelashes to amount to anything in my entire life and always wanted long ones. I feel like I need to bat my eyes at everyone I see.

CONDITION, MOISTURIZE, AND NOURISH YOUR NATURAL lashes with Lash Boost and you will have longer-looking, darker-looking and thicker-looking lashes! 60 day, 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back!!!

Similar products come with the risk of turning your eyelids brown or even changing your eye color, but NOT Lash Boost.

If you've been tempted to try it, do it now. There are two weeks left until this special gift with purchase is gone. You'll still be able to get Lash Boost, but why not get it with a cute free bag and mini eye cream.

Leave a comment or visit my website
to order yours. I promise you won't be sorry.

What I'm watching/reading...

I finished reading this last week.  It was highly recommended by several people and I really liked it. It was a sweet story that chronicles a man who most would describe as cold and crusty but with the passing of time and understanding his circumstances you can't help but root for his heart to thaw.

What I'm listening to...

All the Christmas music.

What I'm wearing...

I seem to be reaching for all my soft, comfy clothes right now. The temperatures have been cooler which just makes me want to be cozy and all of these do just that.

My Lou & Grey Signature soft cowl tunic is from last year, but they have quite a few similar options right now.

What I'm doing this weekend...

Friday we are taking my parents into the city to go to Alcatraz and then it's full on Christmas the rest of the weekend. The halls are decked, the cookies are baked, the presents are wrapped, the cards are almost addressed😉,  so all that's left to do is ENJOY and CELEBRATE!

What I'm looking forward to next month...

New beginnings. As much as I love having up my Christmas decorations, by January I'm definitely ready to declutter my surroundings and get back to normal. I've got some projects I want to get done and lots of things associated with my blog which will celebrate a year at the end of January.

What else is new...

Good question. I'm ready to take a deep breath, exhale and try to relax and just soak it all in for a few minutes.

Happy Wednesday friends!

Christmas Cookie Exchange

TUESDAY...it's TUESDAY already!!!!
Today I'm joining Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesdays to talk about a favorite Christmas recipe or tradition.

If something has happened once can you call it a tradition???
I'm going to talk about my Christmas Cookie Exchange that I hosted last night. Who knows, maybe you are seeing first hand a tradition being born.

You know when you have an idea and you think "this will be great, this will be easy"?
Yeah, this was one of those. It was great and it was easy, but it did involve a little work. I'm so lucky Katie was home to be my right hand and help me pull it off.
#thankssweetgirl

I sent out an Evite a couple of weeks ago to the ladies that I was inviting. I decided to host this for our bible study leadership team because whenever we are together we're always taking care of bible study "business" and rarely have an opportunity to just visit with each other. I provided appetizers (and naturally I forgot to take a single picture of those in my typical hustle and bustle...when will I ever catch on???)

Everyone was supposed to bring 3 dozen cookies, a cookie cutter and the recipe for the yummy treat they brought.

I had everything set up on the side counter and ready to roll.

Katie made these for me and they were not only adorable but delicious and the absolute hit of the cookie exchange.

If I had to pick a favorite from all the cookies it would be a tie between Katie's and these delicious Oatmeal Lace cookies. I will definitely be making these in the future.

I had a small prize for each of the these categories. Katie was once again awesome and made these cute little score cards for us to use.

These were the little prizes and I wrapped them all cute, but I don't think I have to finish the sentence...(I forgot to take a picture😧)

There were 2 more ladies who had already left when we took this picture. This is a really sweet group of women and I'm so happy to know them.

What are your Christmas traditions, new or old?

Now it's time to get things ready for my parents arrival tomorrow. Time's a ticking.

Happy Tuesday my friends!!!

Post Weekend Ramblings

I can't believe this time next week Christmas will be over.
Every single year I think I'll be prepared and able to enjoy it without all the rushing around and every year it just doesn't happen. Who else finds yourself in the same boat?

I saw this on where else? Facebook.  My kids will tell you that this statement is spot on!

#whoswithme
#allthemomsarelikeyep

It's so nice to sit across from these two and laugh while eating.

Sunday night Katie was eating a banana which led to this...

That girl is pretty funny.

I made my annual Christmas sugar cookies over the weekend. Not only do I love eating them, but I love decorating them.

I make some big ones for us and to give away, but we love tiny ones that you can just pop in your mouth. These are dangerous because they are like popcorn and you can't eat just one (or two, or three). You get the picture???

Kent, Katie & I finished the weekend watching "The Sound of Music". It's one of our favorites (not Benny😉😏). Katie asked why it was considered a Christmas movie and I told her I had no idea. If you know, please feel free to share.

If you find yourself still in need of a few little things check out this post from last week where I highlighted some great last minute items on sale.

I'm hosting a Cookie Exchange tonight so lots to do today.
T - 6 days and counting my friends!!!

Friday Favorites #36

And all the little children can't wait!!!

We made it through another week and Friday is here to bring us cheer.
#iknowiminacheesymood

Let's get right to all the things that made me happy this week and talk about Friday Favorites.
Hop over and see what made ErikaNarci, and Andrea's favorites this week too.

ONE

I saw this on Facebook this week and boy could I relate. My chicks are back in the nest as of Wednesday for a couple of weeks and I couldn't be any happier.

Seeing these two on the sofa when I look in the family room just makes me smile.

TWO

I ordered a new planner from Erin Condren a couple of weeks ago and it arrived this week. Just look at the pretty box. You just know when you open it you're going to find something fun.

I've ordered some labels and stickers from this company before, but finally splurged and decided I'd try one of their planners on Cyber Monday.

When I opened the box I found some free stickers.

I love the attention to detail. The way they package things you feel like you're getting a present and can't wait to tear open the tissue paper to see what's inside.

Isn't it adorable? I chose to design my own cover with pictures of my family.

I love that it has bright, beautiful colors and pages. I'm kind of old school and still like to be able to see my entire month at a glance instead of a week at a time.

Each month has an inspirational saying at the beginning.

And a pocket at the back for holding odds and ends.

THREE

I wore my new black swing dress with my jean jacket, tights and my Frye boots yesterday to a Christmas Tea at my bible study. I was comfortable, warm and felt put together. I wore my choker necklace that I bought the last time I was in Nashville and loved it.

FOUR

I started a Facebook page for my blog and I'd love it you liked it and followed me.

FIVE

This is a post floating around on Facebook and if you are a mother of college aged children (or older) this will ring true with you, I feel sure.

My children each year ask me the same question. After thinking about it, I decided I'd give them my real answer:
What do I want for Christmas? I want you. I want you to keep coming around, I want you to bring your kids around, I want you to ask me questions, ask my advice, tell me your problems, ask for my opinion, ask for my help. I want you to come over and rant about your problems, rant about life, whatever. Tell me about your job, your worries, your kids, your fur babies. I want you to continue sharing your life with me. Come over and laugh with me, or laugh at me, I don't care. Hearing you laugh is music to me.

I spent the better part of my life raising you the best way I knew how, and I'm not bragging, but I did a pretty darn good job. Now, give me time to sit back and admire my work, I'm pretty proud of it.
Raid my refrigerator, help yourself, I really don't mind. In fact, I wouldn't want it any other way.
I want you to spend your money making a better life for you and your family, I have the things I need. I want to see you happy and healthy. When you ask me what I want for Christmas, I say "nothing" because you've already been giving me my gift all year. I want you.

I couldn't have said it any better if I'd tried.

Whether your weekend is filled with tying up lose shopping ends or hitting the party circuit I hope it's wonderful and you have some time to sit and relax and enjoy the season surrounding you.

Happy Friday friends!
