Happy Friday friends. Here we are and it's already the 10th of November. Are you in as much disbelief as I am? Katie and Erin (Benny's girlfriend, if you're new around here) come home a week from tomorrow and Benny, the poor working man will come in on the next Wednesday. Yes, that means that Thanksgiving is a mere 13 days away.
I'm going to do a full post of Hawaii pictures next week. It's hard to believe Kent and I have been talking about going there for over 15 years and now it's come and gone. It.was.WONDERFUL!
Seeing as how this week was a short one for me here at home, I'm guessing my favorites will be abbreviated too. Let's find out๐
It's no secret that Katie and I communicate A LOT through Snapchat. I love getting snaps from her. Now that she's nannying I get some pretty funny ones from her and the littles she keeps.
And I also get quite a few with Luke in them. You didn't hear this from me, but so far, so good on the boyfriend front.๐
Remember I talked about how Shelly introduced me to this wide angle lens for cell phones?
Well first of all, thanks Shelly, it worked like a charm. I used it along with Katie's selfie stick and was able to get pictures of us that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. Did I feel like the Queen of Cheese-land with my selfie stick and lens all rigged up? Why yes I did, but I pretty much just kept telling myself, "you're never going to see these people again". Hahaha!
Getting Snaps and seeing pictures from friends of all the beautiful foliage in the South right now is a favorite and makes me really miss seeing the turning of the trees. It does not however make Kent miss raking leaves.๐๐๐
I decided I'd run get my nails done the day before we left for our trip. I just went in thinking I'd get shellac and the girl convinced me to get the new SNS dipped nails. She said it contained vitamin E and calcium and would help strengthen my nails vs. the way shellac seems to make them weaker. The dipped nails won't peel off the way shellac does after a few weeks. I love it and I love the color. Millennial Pink. (I have cracked 2 of them๐ฉ. One I was able to just file the cracked part down and the other one I just did yesterday, so I'm going to have to wait and see what happens.)
If you follow me on Instagram (and why wouldn't you?๐), then you saw this post yesterday. I'm going to share this outfit next week here, but let's just say I was so happy to finally have it be cool enough for me to wear this Free People tunic.
I also shared this outfit earlier this week. These booties are one of my favorites things from the Nordstrom sale this past summer.
And speaking of Nordstrom, they are having a Fall sale right now. Here are some things you might like. I've ordered several things I've been watching.
Have you started Christmas shopping? I've been picking up a few things here and there and we brought back quite a few things from Hawaii.
I'm trying to decide if I should throw my arms up in the air and take the plunge and decorate for Christmas early. I always wait until after Thanksgiving, but I'm kinda getting the itch to just do it minus our tree. We won't be here for Christmas this year, so on those years I don't put one up. What do you think? Have you started decorating?
Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Oh I can't wait to see your Hawaii pics! And I am loving that grey tunic. We always wait until the weekend after thanksgiving to decorate. And I plan to stay strong! Even though it is ever so tempting!
ReplyDeleteI'm so indecisive I can't make up my mind๐ฉ. I'll hopefully pull a Hawaii post together this weekend. Maybe while Kent's watching the OU game tomorrow night๐ Have a great weekend!
DeleteHappy Friday lady !! I've heard of the SNS Dipped stuff. I've heard good things and not so good things. I will wait a little longer before I give it a try. But OMG I love love that pretty nail color.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend !
Hey Tammy! I think it might depend on who does them too. I got lucky and this girl was really good. I've kept pink/white nails done for a long time and takes breaks. I had them put back on in August and went to 3 different people and couldn't find anyone who did a good job...without chewing up my fingers. My regular girl "went on vacation" and never came back๐ข. Hope you have a great weekend beautiful friend!
DeleteGuess what? I'm out shopping today! So many good sales! Wish you were with me! Have a beautiful weekend Gorgeous lady!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...I totally wish I was out shopping with you!!! That would be so much fun! Have a wonderful weekend. I hope you found some things you love and bargains too. XOXO
DeleteI love that outfit and the turquoise necklace! ADORABLE! I may need to replicate that soon...
ReplyDeleteYou should absolutely replicate it Tina! Thanks for reading and commenting. Have a wonderful weekend!!!
DeleteGo for the tree, Sista! I usually put mine up this weekend, too! I just finished scraping the shellac off my nails. Think I'm gonna take a break from it during the holidays!
ReplyDeleteOh man, that's makes be tired just thinking about it...lol. If you have parties, try the dip on your nails. I really like it and it doesn't peel๐. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! XOXO
DeleteHere from The Blended Blog! That camera lens is such a cool idea. I'd probably feel awkward too, but hey, you got good photos! That's the main thing, right?

The dipped nails sound interesting. I bought a kit and did mine myself and they did not turn out well - because I am not skilled in that way whatsoever. But getting them at the salon might be a good idea for the holidays. Hmmmm...something to ponder!
ReplyDeleteYour snaps with Katie are priceless! That nannying job is somethin' else, huh? She will be ready to be a wife and momma that's for sure! Glad to hear all's well with the bf. Nolan and I had a huge text session about his gf this week and it about did me in but I think they're all good now. Actually you know this because we were on messenger that night, duh!
I say decorate and enjoy it for as long as you can. Once our renovation is really complete I am starting my decorating. I will definitely be doing it before Thanksgiving. Christmas decorations make my heart so happy!
Well the countdown is on until our kids are home for break and I cannot wait!! Also can't wait to see those Hawaii pictures!
Have a wonderful weekend beautiful friend!
xo,
Kellyann
You should definitely do the dipped nails for the holidays. I'm happy Nolan and the gf got things worked out. I'm so indecisive about the decorating. It makes my heart happy to, but my heart gets tired of it...LOL. It rained here a tiny bit today and I've stayed in all day. Getting ready to go to dinner though. You guys have a wonderful weekend!! XOXO
DeleteI can't wait to hear about Hawaii!!!! :) My husband has been there, but I want to go too! I am going to put this wide angle lens on my stocking list! Haha! I have been thinking about the whole decorate for Christmas early thing too and I think I'm going to just do it the day after Thanksgiving like I always do! My daughters birthday is before Thanksgiving, so that sort of keeps me too busy to start early!

You need to go Carrie! So incredibly wonderful. We'll be going into the city while the kids are home and I'm definitely taking that lens with me. I'm so indecisive about the decorating I drive myself crazy. Sounds like you'll have plenty to keep you busy without throwing that in the mix. Have a wonderful weekend! XO
DeleteYour nails look great. I've never herd of that treatment before. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tanya. I was so nervous about how they'd turn out, but the girl did an awesome job. Your house is looking so GREAT!!! I'm just so impressed at how well you've handled this. Have a wonderful weekend! XO
DeleteWell, that was a great list of favorites! Looking forward to hearing about your Hawaii trip. I just can't bring myself to decorate before Thanksgiving but suit yourself. I don't do the whole enchilada anymore, keep it pretty minimal. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm still on the fence Lea. I need a cape with a big "I" on it for "indecisive". Hahaha. Maybe I can sucker the girls (Katie and Benny's girlfriend) into helping next week. Hope your week is off to a great start! XO
DeleteSo glad that lens worked for you! Can't wait to see your Hawaii post! It is finally chilly enough here to wear some of our winterish stuff and I'm so excited! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteMe too Shelly! That was a great find๐. I think our weather must be pretty similar. We are finally cooling off and I can wear some of my winterish stuff too. While I'd take summer over winter any day, I do like changing up my clothes. Happy Tuesday!
DeleteOh, so much nice stuff to read here Lisa, and thanks for sharing. Now come on! I've only got myself into gel nails this year and now you're telling me there's something NEW on the market? Nail World is spinning too fast for me to keep up!
ReplyDeleteThe timing of decorating is crucial, too soon and you may tire of them come Christmas; too late and it seems so much effort for so few days. My fresh tree and underfloor heating does my head in. So I wish you well and hope you give us a Christmas home tour! Hugs, x.
You are such a cutie! You should try the dipped nails. She assures me they are better for your nails and easier to soak off, plus I can attest that after just crossing the two line they are not peeling at.all. You are so right about the decorating and I think that's what's holding me back. Funny thing is it's also part of the reason I'm ready. I'm sick of the fall stuff...lol Have a great day!!!! XO
DeleteI tried SNS when I was in Cali on vacation! I found that it last for a good while with only one small chip, so I was pleased! I'm glad you had a great vacation!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess. It really was incredible. I'm ready to go back!!!
