My love for Free People is no secret. Their clothes are fun and relaxed and have cute details. I hate going out somewhere and seeing the same shirt I have on walk by on someone else. Don't you? I mean how many times have you worried about showing up somewhere and finding your "twin" there. I don't usually have to worry about that with these. While I've only bought tops from this line, they do make all kinds of clothing and accessories.
Free People does tend to be on the pricey side, but if you find a piece you like and watch you'll most likely be able to catch it on sale. That's what I did with this tunic. I'd been eyeing it for quite a while and finally got a great deal. Macy's and Nordstrom both carry this brand. Macy's runs coupons and Nordstrom price matches, so you just have to stay on your toes.
The easy going style without being sloppy is what really appeals to me. They have a real Boho vibe and this top is fun and flirty and can be dressed up with black jeans like I've done or look equally as cute with a pair of distressed jeans. I added a black cami to it to keep it modest and age appropriate.
When this top arrived I immediately loved it but the sleeves were so long they came down to my fingertips. That may have been the intended fit, but I felt like a little girl in her mommies shirt. I was able to alter it myself and take about two inches off the sleeves. (they aren't really uneven, it's just the way it's hanging😜)
I'm so happy I had this hanging in my closet. I was trying on things to wear Saturday for Kent's office party and nothing I had ordered was working for me. I threw this on and was good to go. I wore it with my favorite black jeans, booties (similar) and a black clutch.

Now I want some Free People tops thanks to you lol. Love this and this outfit too is the right way to wear black head to toe. You did a great job with the sleeves too. Welcome by and linkup with me on Thursday!
ReplyDeleteYou need some Ada! They are such fun and comfortable clothes. Hope you are having a great week!
DeleteOh yes friend, Free People looks great on you. I really started watching what I bought from Loft because so many people shop there and I hate twinning with a stranger! I have yet to buy any FP but I like their pieces, you're right - they have that Boho vibe without being sloppy. I'll have to start stalking them.
ReplyDeleteSuper impressed you hemmed those sleeves - I don't even sew buttons on, lol! But you know my husband - practical and frugal as he is - can sew buttons on and even do a hem. Me? I'm great watching Hallmark movies!
I hope you have the best day my gorgeous friend!
xo,
Kellyann
You need some Free People in your closet my friend. It would look so darling on you. My mom is an excellent seamstress, so I guess a little of it trickled down. I was nervous taking it apart to do that and afraid I'd screw it up. Thankfully it turned out well. That Brian is impressive but someone's got to watch those Hallmark movies too😉. We've made it to Wednesday...Katie is binge watching Parenthood, so you know what that means...I am too.LOL! XOXO
DeleteYou know I adore FP. The FP stuff in my closet are some of my favorite pieces! You look so cute, like a little sweet ball of dynamite ready for a fun night! I love a Cami underneath, I just feel more put together! You, my friend, are a gem and I admire you and your sweet style!
ReplyDeleteAnd you look fearless in all your Free People friend. I love cami's under almost everything. I feel like a little girl in a t-shirt. hahaha. Have you got your closet all set up yet? I bet it's going to be awesome!!! I want a tour of that. Friday is coming! XOXO
DeleteSo pretty! What a perfect top, when I saw this post I instantly remembered you wore this to your husband's holiday lunch in a previous post! I really like the sleeves and the simple b/w coloring of it! I was just looking at it online and its nice that it comes in different colors, too!
