It's Not Too Soon To Think About Christmas

You're probably wondering if I've lost my ever loving mind. It's not too soon to think about Christmas? What?!?! So here's what happened. I had seen a baking set in Williams Sonoma after Christmas that I was thinking about grabbing for Benny and Erin. I meant to look on the website when I got home (so I could just have it shipped there) and of course in true Lisa fashion, I totally forgot. Fast forward to last weekend when I went back in the store and they were all gone. Insert sad face here. I jumped on the website today and didn't see it, but I did see a lot of other things that would make great gifts for a great deal. So while I typically am informing y'all of great fashion deals, today I'm sharing some things you might want to grab for birthdays, showers or...next Christmas.

Williams Sonoma has quite a few fun American girl things including this adorable doll apron and mitt. (less than $9) If you've know an little girl who loves her AG doll, can you imagine how excited she'd be to get this cute little set?

This little Madeleine baking set  is another cute AG item that caught my eye and would be perfect for a birthday party gift.

I love looking at the dishes in Williams Sonoma. They have such beautiful, albeit pricey items. They have a whole line of these Botanical Pumpkin items, but the platter really caught my eye. You could use it to serve or it would be gorgeous on your counter on a plate stand.

Sometimes I wonder if beautiful stemware and china are just a thing of the past and then I stumble on a stunning set of stemmed, cut glass goblets like these.

Monograms are timeless and classic. A monogram tray is the perfect hostess gift or shower gift for newlyweds and this one is under $8. There are also coordinating salad plates for just under $6.

I feel like punch bowls may fall into the same category as stemware, but any good southern girl throwing a shower will most likely wish she had one. This one is beautiful cut glass and comes with 6 glasses in 3 different patterns. The glasses would look gorgeous in a bar cabinet or on a bar cart. Trust me when I tell you this is a real bargain at under $50 and was originally $120. What a great wedding gift this would be.

Every holiday I feel like I start pulling out table linens for special meals and wish I had this or that. This is a beautiful runner with a tartan border that could be layered over a table cloth or used alone on a wood table. Now's the time to get a higher end item for a bargain.

There are so many great things on the Williams Sonoma site right now for a fraction of what they typically cost if you can just think ahead.

Go get those bargains, friends! These just scratch the surface. There are so many pretty things to ponder.

Closet Staples

Good morning friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was about as low key as they come and I didn't hate it. 😉

Today I'm sharing with you a remix of some closet staples I purchased during the fall.

This long cardigan has been a great addition to my closet. Sometimes I purchase something wondering how much I'll wear it and it becomes a favorite. Conversely, sometimes I buy something just knowing I'll wear it all the time and then I hardly ever do. Gotta' be honest, hate it when that happens.

The long sleeve peplum tee is such a great stand alone piece, but also makes for a great layering piece. Knowing how I feel about regular tees and the way they fit my short-waisted self, this peplum is the perfect alternative and has personality too.

When I purchased these raw hem jeans from Old Navy last spring (option / option) I had no idea how much I'd end up loving them. This pair has "built in sculpt" and they are so comfortable and keep everything tucked in right where it should be. These jeans are one of my most worn pairs.

Alex and Ani bracelets are really fun layering bracelets. I like to wear a mix of gold and silver and these allow me to do just that. You can get them with all different themes and express your personality.

I also added one of my favorite Kendra Scott necklaces. This was my very first KS purchase 2 years ago and started a love affair I didn't see coming. I now have quite a few KS pieces and they are probably my most worn. This necklace is the gunmetal finish and is no longer being sold (that I can find), but KS stores have what is called a "color bar" and they can make this necklace for you. You can go in an create your own combination of metals and stones if they don't have what you are looking for. Be sure you stop in a store during your birthday month and treat yourself to a half price piece.

I hope maybe you are enjoying a day off today. Kent is off and we may go explore some area we haven't been to yet.  Have a wonderful week!

Friday Favorites #90

Hey friends! I'm so happy you're here for this weeks Friday Favorites. We've made it through the second week of January. Can you believe it? This Friday even brings a long weekend for a lot of people. It's nice to have another little break after being jolted back into real at the end of the holidays. We had about a day and a half of rain this week and I'm always amazed at just how quickly things start to green up. This is the time of year when the hills become really pretty and I have to tell you it always makes me in a happy mood when things are green. Is that weird?

Leaving this girl at the airport doesn't fall under the "favorites" category, but this "athleisure" look I threw on to take her to the airport does. I wore my favorite Zella capri leggings and Free People Cowl Neck tunic (that I now have in two colors) with my black Nike sneakers. Oh, and we can't forget my new bag😍. We have to pay a dime for shopping bags here so this bag is perfect when I'm running out and don't want to mess with carrying a bag in the store. If I buy something, I can throw it in here and head for the car...for FREE. LOL!

These two loving on each other...definitely a favorite.

Wednesday Kent and I spent the day with each other at doctors appointments. He had to have a "precautionary" test (you can probably do the math), and I had an appointment with an eye specialist to make sure I wasn't developing glaucoma. (which I'm not🙌🏻) I wore some tried and true favorites for all of our running around that included my black skinny jeans, striped sweater (similar), military vest and leopard flats. As Kent and I were sitting in the waiting room waiting for my eyes to dilate, I looked at him and said, "you do realize this is our future...sitting in doctors offices together".😂 #herewego

I ordered this sweater that I affectionately call my "grandpa sweater" after seeing it on several other bloggers. Well, not only is it a great deal at less than $30, but it's also super comfy and guess what else. Yep, cozy. I've worn it twice this week and I'm not even ashamed.

Funny thing about Friday Favorite posts. When I start out I'm somehow not quite sure what shape they will take. Yes, I'm a fly by the seat of my pants blogger. That's something I'd really like to change, but I'm not very good at sitting down and actually planning out posts. If you are a blogger and have advice on that, feel free to leave it. Anyway, this post is turning into more of a review of what I wore this week.

This cardigan from Old Navy is a great alternative to some of the more expensive options. It's nice and thick and just a little shorter, which is good for those of us who are vertically challenged.

On a side note, if you haven't seen Greatest Showman yet, GO! We went last Friday night and LOVED it. Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron both did an amazing job!

Okay, last one. I promise. If you haven't started a collection of Barefoot Dreams cozy items yet, I just have one question. What are you waiting for? I now have 3 different sweaters from them and love each and everyone of them. I gave Katie one for her birthday and she wears it all.the.time.

This cardigan is currently on sale 30% off and I promise, you won't be sorry if you order it...you might however be sorry if you don't.😉

I Love Mustard

Hahaha! No, it's not what your thinking. I am actually a ketchup girl all the way around and don't like mustard at all. But I do currently have a love affair with the color mustard.

I picked up this sweater (currently 40% off) on a whim and tried it on when we were in Loft before Christmas and ended up loving it.

Katie and I ran outside one day to take these pictures and didn't realize her shadow was in most of them. Oh well, we'll just file these under "keepin' it real".

The blouson, puffy sleeves are showing up strong in sweaters right now. This sweater is crazy soft and warm. It's extremely comfy and you know how I feel about that.❤️

The little tie at the bottom is adjustable and is one of the things I was drawn to. A fun little detail like that takes a sweater from ordinary to personality plus.

This outfit would look just as cute with booties or boots but this day I decided to go with leopard flats. If you've been around here any time at all you know I'm always singing the praises of these shoes. They are my go-to's during the season changes and even all winter long in California.

I often feel like a walking advertisement for Kendra Scott. I've amassed quite the collection and they are the ones I find myself repeatedly reaching for. The kids gave me the new agate necklace for Christmas and the longer one I bought in October. It has 3 different charms that can be worn individually or together and an adjustable chain with a slide so it can literally be worn any length you want. My mom got it in antique silver and I love it just as much and it's on sale.

If you still aren't convinced that you need a little mustard in your life somewhere other than your hotdog, I rounded up a variety of ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe.
