Friday Favorites #77

I don't know about you, but I can barely wrap my mind around today being the 29th of September! In two days it will OCTOBER!!! I keep seeing all these Christmas countdowns coming across Facebook and I get a twinge of excitement and a jolt of anxiety. These week flew by for me and I'm not even sure what I was doing, but I know I was busy all week long.

So of course I'm joining my blog girls and sharing a few favorites from the week.

Calories are definitely not a favorite, but I always like something that gives me a chuckle.

Are you familiar with Nickel & Suede? I've been seeing these earrings on blogs and Instagram and wanting a pair for quite some time. I finally caved and ordered a pair.

I always love getting something with cute packaging and these fell into that category.

I love them!!!
These are the medium and they are pretty big so I'm sure this is the right size for me. They are also available in small and large. Y'all! these are so light weight you don't even know you are wearing them. Seriously. This pair is called Champagne Shimmer and they are perfect to wear with gold or silver. I've already worn them a couple of days this week.

It was actually cool enough one day to pull out this favorite tunic. I got this one a couple of years ago and love it when the seasons are changing.

I just ordered more of my mineral peptides from Rodan + Fields yesterday. I've tried various "minerals" products in the past but these are by far my favorite. I don't like the look of a heavy foundation but do like some light coverage and these give me just the right amount PLUS they have SUNSCREEN built in (SPF 20). I wear several products that have sunscreen in them so I don't have to worry about one more layer or product on my face.

I use this brush that can be purchased with the mineral peptides or separately. It has the softest bristles and cleans beautifully when you need to wash it. I love that it has a top and can easily be carried in my makeup bag or my purse.

For this or any other Rodan + Fields products you can check my website here

Y'all know I love my bible study! It's my favorite day of the week. Going to see all the sweet women in my core group and then going to the second half of the day with our leadership team. I snuck this quick picture yesterday. Of course you can't see most of the ladies (since I was being so sly😉) but this is where we prepare for the next week and have some really good fellowship.

I love an excuse to bake and so I used bible study as the perfect excuse to try Andrea's Pumpkin Drop Cookies. They were a HUGE hit. Kent loves coming home to something baking in the oven so he was excited and then when I showed up to bible study with a tray of treats, well let's just say instead of winning brownie points, I got me some cookie points. All the ladies loved them. Thanks for the recipe Andrea! When I get back from my trip I'm going to try her Three Chip Pumpkin Cookies.

10 Random Facts About Me

I've had this list in my back pocket for a while and finally decided to share it with you. One of the things I love about blogging and the blogging community is meeting and making new friends and learning fun things about each other. I've read some posts like this and always think they are fun.

So let's see how many of these things you may or may not know about me.

1. I am not a fan of movies. They are too much of a time investment for this girls short attention span.

2. I don't like bananas, but I like banana bread, banana muffins and even pancakes with banana and I like them even more if you add some chocolate chips.

3. I can't read a map and hate geography. Thank goodness for the invention of the  GPS.

4. I'm an excellent colorer and used to color in college after class to relax.

5. I hate politics...just ask my mom😉 (Right mom?!)

6. I know how to sew but don't enjoy it at all.

7. If I'm going to read a book it will always be a romance novel.

8. Minnie Pearl use to come into the restaurant where I worked in college and would tell me how pretty I was. She was such a sweet lady.

9. I don't like licorice.

10. I have a black thumb. Our house is where house plants go to die.

Do any of these sound like you? Tell me in the comments.
Happy Hump Day!

Olive Pants For Fall

There was a time I'd have never thought I'd be wearing "army green" aka olive pants. Who knew it would become a neutral in the world of fashion?

I ordered these pants during the Nordstrom sale. They are made by Kut and super comfortable with a ton of stretch.

I paired them with an old top from Target that is no longer available but I'll link some great options at the bottom.

I was so excited to wear these Vince Camuto booties. I think I ordered them in the wrong size though because they killed my big toe and I ended up returning them. I contacted some friends that have them and they haven't had that problem. So I'd say order a half size up.

Have you purchased any olive pants yet? They are a great alternative to jeans and can be worn with so many different things.

You can shop this look here

Have a great Tuesday friends!

Ringing In Fall

It's official! Fall is here, or as I like to call it Flummer. Fall in the morning and summer in the afternoon making it extremely hard to figure out what to wear. I know you know what I'm talking about. All I can say is thank goodness for cardigans.🙌🏼

We had our normal empty nester weekend of coming and going as we please. I'm telling y'all, this empty nest thing in some ways is awesome. Yes, I absolutely miss having the kids here and knowing all about their days and just hanging out with them around the house. But I'm also here to tell ya' that flying by the seat of your pants isn't so bad either and eating out is much cheaper. #lookforthesilverlining

We popped in Target Friday night and look what we found.

You know I'm all about me some Halo Top and well pumpkin...duh. Here's the "skinny" on it (see what I did😜) If I'm using Andrea's pumpkin scale I'd have to say
4 on a scale of 5. This was pretty darn good. The only think I couldn't quite figure out was the texture. It had little bits in it that I assume were supposed to be "crust". We of course topped ours with whipped cream and YUM!

Then Saturday we were out and I was on the hunt for these two pumpkin treats.

Tammy did a great tutorial video on how she makes her own PSL using this coffee. (she actually used Pumpkin Pie, but I found this one) I came home and recreated it and it was delicious and I can promise it will be my afternoon treat for the next little bit. I also picked up these Pumpkin Biscotti after Andrea named them a favorite. These little nuggets are perfect with my PSL and I'm thinking about dipping the bottoms in dark chocolate because...why not?!

I'd also been on the hunt for this yogurt that Andrea and Laura had both recommended. It must be good because Target was all out of the small ones, so I just had to bite the bullet and get a big one. I'm thinking I'll try this today, so stay tuned.

These two were in Atlanta at my brothers this weekend and he sent me this picture. Them being close was a long time coming and mama's if your little people can barely tolerate each other I'm here to tell you not to lose hope. Now these two monkey's of mine are great buddies and protectors of each other.

Erin was with them and they all went to a sporting goods store. So while the boys were shopping, the girls were sending me these on Snapchat and cracking me up.

Kent and I were on our way back from our bagel walk and not to be outdone, I sent them these.

I don't know if they girls thought they were funny, but I did...LOL

If you follow me on Instagram you saw this yesterday.

Y'all this dress is seriously one of my all time favorite dresses. (and on super sale) I had another friend text me yesterday and she had just ordered it too. It's really that cute! I wore my blush cardigan with it to church so I could take it on and then off and then and off get the picture. #thankyouhotflashes

And this cozy tunic is on SALE! I bought it last year and loved it and it's available again this year with a few colors being on sale.

I've also gone ahead and rounded up some other great transitional pieces that are all currently marked down.

So there you have it. A weekend review with a lot of good finds.
Hope you have a great week!

Friday Favorites #76

Happy Friday and...

We woke up to 55 degrees. Yep, fall is making itself known around these parts.  I'm thinking today might be the day I pull out my fall decorations. I did a little changing over on our front porch already, so now I need to add a little fall to the inside.
It wouldn't be Friday if I didn't share some favorites for the week so let's get to it.

I broke out our new Keurig this week. Isn't she pretty? Our old one had been faithful for a long time but decided she was in charge and would work when she felt like. Sorry, that's not how we roll around here so she was replaced with this new improved model.

We celebrated a birthday and had a very decadent dessert. (recipe to come next week)

This cracked me up! My friend Sarah sent me this picture of her little person. What a hoot!!! A girl never knows when she might need just a little snack.
There is one week left to take advantage of this special deal! You asked and Rodan + Fields delivered. Don't you hate having to all your full size products when you travel? And if it's a short trip you can't just carry them on.
