Friday Favorites #88

Whelp, this is it friends. The final Friday Favorites of 2017. Thanks so much for joining me week after week to recap my favorites. This has been such a great year for me with this space. I've made some of the sweetest friends and enjoyed getting to know so many of you better. I absolutely love it when you comment and we get to chat. I can't wait to see what happens here in 2018. We are only 3 short days away from the new year. Are you ready? The start of a new year brings the possibility for a redo, a clean slate, a fresh canvas, a new beginning. However you choose to look at it.

I'm linking up with some bloggers and you can check the Link Ups tab to find where  and maybe find some new bloggers to follow.

I looked back at the top 5 posts for 2017 and found out the ones that seem the most popular are fashion posts followed by Friday Favorites.  Here's a little recap.

What post is complete without some of the best sale picks? Nordstrom's half yearly sale is on and you know I can't help myself. I've rounded up some of my picks. I ordered this purse and if I "needed" another pair of boots, I'd order these. I tried them on and they are so comfortable. This is the perfect time to stretch your Christmas money and grab some new things for yourself that Santa forgot.๐Ÿ˜‰

We've had a great time visiting my family in Virginia and being "home" for a bit. We are headed back to California and reality tomorrow.  I hope y'all have the best weekend. Stay safe and be's that for being all motherly?๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy New Year!!!

Friday Favorites #87

Hello friends and hello Friday before Christmas. THREE days. Can you believe it? We are down to the wire and in the homestretch. Are you ready? I can't believe it, but I think I am. I've even already got the suitcase with all the gifts packed and ready to go. There were several things this week I had on my list and now that they are all finished I feel like I can really relax and not feel so rushed. It's been a fun week with Katie at home and making Friday favorites a little more joyful.

Tuesday night I hosted my 2nd cookie exchange for friends from bible study. We had a small group who were able to come, but we enjoyed visiting and eating. I asked everyone to bring cookies and an appetizer. We all agreed snacky food makes for the best dinner.

If you are looking for a new appetizer to try, this corn dip is delicious and can be served hot or cold. It's super easy.

1 cup mayo
1 cup sour cream
2 cans Mexicorn (well drained)
1 small jar diced pimento (well drained)
2 T diced jalapeno
1/4 C chopped green onions
2 C grated cheddar (or cheese of your choice)

Mix and bake on 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
Serve with tortilla chips or Tostitos scoops.

Wednesday, Katie and I went to get our nails done. Sadly we were sitting on complete opposite ends of the

The girl who's been doing my nails since I started getting them "dipped" does the best job, she's so sweet and really takes her time and is very careful. I took her a box of Christmas treats.

Here they are all pretty and ready for our Christmas trip. BTW..check out Katie's eyelashes. She uses Lash Boost too, and her lashes are seriously bonkers!!! Let me know if you are ready to get beautiful lashes for yourself.

We have these 3 cuties that live next door to us. They adore Katie and just love to come visit all of us. I invited them over for a little Christmas crafting fun. We made ornaments and decorated cookies. I'll tell ya', give kids a bag of frosting and sprinkles and they are so happy.

Yesterday Katie and I finally got out to do a little shopping. She's on the hunt for some new shoes.

These slip ons by Steve Madden look so cute on.

Barrington Gifts did a giveaway on Instagram and I won the cutest little St. Anne tote for an Elf on the Shelf. I've always been a big sucker for all things tiny and it is absolutely darling. Well we didn't have an elf, so naturally I had to go get one. I'll be totally honest here. I was thrilled to have an excuse to buy one. I can't wait to have some sweet little grand-babies and an Elf at my house. (But first things first๐Ÿ˜‰) Anyway, you could post a picture of your elf with the tote for a chance to win a "life size" tote. Katie and I named our elf Gretchen and I did a little story with her and it paid off...I WON! Are you kidding me?! I was over the moon! I've been eyeing one of these totes for over and year and now I'm finally going to get one.  Merry Christmas to me! Gretchen and I are both so excited!!! I can't wait to design mine and start carrying it.

You won't be surprised that after my For The Love Of Leopard post this week that I'm leaning toward this one. Yep, I'm that crazy person that has to see things side by side to choose so I mocked up all the choices I was interested in. Don't judge๐Ÿ˜‰. Which one would you choose?

I hope y'all aren't getting tired of hearing me talk about LOFT. They are seriously killing it this year with their styles. I picked this sweater up Saturday. It is sooo soft. It's Lou & Grey and you know how much I love this line. This sweater all the things. Soft✔️ Cozy✔️ On sale✔️ Fun little details✔️ The best part is, they are still offering 50% off. A lot of time Lou & Grey is excluded from 50% off, so if you've been thinking about getting some, Lou & Grey does tend to run generous in some of the tops. I got an x-small in this one. (Allie, I wore my leopard flats with it๐Ÿ˜‰)

Alrighty then. That wraps up all the goodness I have for you today. We leave tomorrow for Virginia and are so looking forward to seeing a lot of our family. It will be so much fun. I may go a little MIA next week and honestly, I hope you will too. Enjoy your family time and being with friends. Soak it all up. Life is busy and so fast, don't let the little moments slip by.

Merry Christmas y'all!!!

Burgundy Lou & Gray Sweater and LOFT Sale

Well y'all know how much I love LOFT and even more than that, how much I love Lou & Grey. Holy softness, Batman. These clothes are always some of my favorites and you had better believe any time LOFT is having a sale that includes the Lou & Grey line I'm adding a piece (or two, ahem) to my closet. I'm totally amazed that they are still having their 50% off sale, making things a real steal.

This sweater is actually for Katie. Shhh, don't tell. I'll be honest with you though, when I tried it on the thought seriously went through my head that maybe I should keep it for myself. I then reminded myself that Christmas is about giving and not receiving.๐Ÿ˜‰ It's all kinds of soft and cozy and as we all know, those are two of my favorite words when it comes to clothing.

This color is so hot right now and plays well with others. It pairs beautifully with denim, army green, mustard, gray, navy and black. Hmmm, maybe it's a neutral? I paired it with some of my favorite Rockstar jeans from Old Navy. I know I should love premium denim, but I just can't bring myself to spend the money on it when I love these much more affordable jeans.

My Frye boots were an investment I haven't regretted and they are currently 30% off which is a great deal. Over the knee boots and suede boots are so on trend right now, but these are timeless and can always be worn.

On a totally unrelated note, check out my lemons on the tree behind me. So fun having them in our own backyard. It's taken about 3 years for the trees to start producing and we are so excited.

Here are some other favorites from LOFT for you to think about

Have a great day and make the most of this precious time leading up to the big event.
