Friday Favorites #87

Hello friends and hello Friday before Christmas. THREE days. Can you believe it? We are down to the wire and in the homestretch. Are you ready? I can't believe it, but I think I am. I've even already got the suitcase with all the gifts packed and ready to go. There were several things this week I had on my list and now that they are all finished I feel like I can really relax and not feel so rushed. It's been a fun week with Katie at home and making Friday favorites a little more joyful.

Tuesday night I hosted my 2nd cookie exchange for friends from bible study. We had a small group who were able to come, but we enjoyed visiting and eating. I asked everyone to bring cookies and an appetizer. We all agreed snacky food makes for the best dinner.

If you are looking for a new appetizer to try, this corn dip is delicious and can be served hot or cold. It's super easy.

HOT CORN DIP

1 cup mayo
1 cup sour cream
2 cans Mexicorn (well drained)
1 small jar diced pimento (well drained)
2 T diced jalapeno
1/4 C chopped green onions
2 C grated cheddar (or cheese of your choice)

Mix and bake on 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
Serve with tortilla chips or Tostitos scoops.

Wednesday, Katie and I went to get our nails done. Sadly we were sitting on complete opposite ends of the shop...lol.

The girl who's been doing my nails since I started getting them "dipped" does the best job, she's so sweet and really takes her time and is very careful. I took her a box of Christmas treats.

Here they are all pretty and ready for our Christmas trip. BTW..check out Katie's eyelashes. She uses Lash Boost too, and her lashes are seriously bonkers!!! Let me know if you are ready to get beautiful lashes for yourself.

We have these 3 cuties that live next door to us. They adore Katie and just love to come visit all of us. I invited them over for a little Christmas crafting fun. We made ornaments and decorated cookies. I'll tell ya', give kids a bag of frosting and sprinkles and they are so happy.

Yesterday Katie and I finally got out to do a little shopping. She's on the hunt for some new shoes.

These slip ons by Steve Madden look so cute on.

Barrington Gifts did a giveaway on Instagram and I won the cutest little St. Anne tote for an Elf on the Shelf. I've always been a big sucker for all things tiny and it is absolutely darling. Well we didn't have an elf, so naturally I had to go get one. I'll be totally honest here. I was thrilled to have an excuse to buy one. I can't wait to have some sweet little grand-babies and an Elf at my house. (But first things first😉) Anyway, you could post a picture of your elf with the tote for a chance to win a "life size" tote. Katie and I named our elf Gretchen and I did a little story with her and it paid off...I WON! Are you kidding me?! I was over the moon! I've been eyeing one of these totes for over and year and now I'm finally going to get one.  Merry Christmas to me! Gretchen and I are both so excited!!! I can't wait to design mine and start carrying it.

You won't be surprised that after my For The Love Of Leopard post this week that I'm leaning toward this one. Yep, I'm that crazy person that has to see things side by side to choose so I mocked up all the choices I was interested in. Don't judge😉. Which one would you choose?

I hope y'all aren't getting tired of hearing me talk about LOFT. They are seriously killing it this year with their styles. I picked this sweater up Saturday. It is sooo soft. It's Lou & Grey and you know how much I love this line. This sweater all the things. Soft✔️ Cozy✔️ On sale✔️ Fun little details✔️ The best part is, they are still offering 50% off. A lot of time Lou & Grey is excluded from 50% off, so if you've been thinking about getting some, do.it.now. Lou & Grey does tend to run generous in some of the tops. I got an x-small in this one. (Allie, I wore my leopard flats with it😉)

Alrighty then. That wraps up all the goodness I have for you today. We leave tomorrow for Virginia and are so looking forward to seeing a lot of our family. It will be so much fun. I may go a little MIA next week and honestly, I hope you will too. Enjoy your family time and being with friends. Soak it all up. Life is busy and so fast, don't let the little moments slip by.

Merry Christmas y'all!!!

If you happen to be new around here I'd love for you to follow me on Bloglovin'FacebookInstagram & Pinterest and subscribe for email updates whenever there's a new post.

    1. Thanks girl! I was lying in bed this morning thinking about how short my time with her at home is growing. She's not coming home this summer, so this will likely be the last extended stint we have with her. Breaks my heart a little, but it's how life goes. On to bigger and better things. We are entering a whole new season in our family and I'm so excited to watch it evolve. Happy Friday and sneak a nap!!! You deserve it! XOXO

  4. Before I get sidetracked, go with #4! It has a bit of pink and don't we love that color? Or is it just me that loves that color? I don't know but dang I am so happy for you. I was trying to explain it to Nolan when we were messaging about it, lol.
Great round up my friend. I am seriously so crazy over those cookies because they are beautiful! Your little neighbor girls are so cute and looks like your ladies from bible study had a great time too. I love small, intimate gatherings. When the crowd is large it's hard to visit, I go for small groups any day!
Tomorrow is your travel day, right? Well, have a safe trip and enjoy your family.
Merry Christmas sweet friend, love ya!

    1. Well, I ordered before your comment. I went with number 3. Kent and Katie didn't like the pink. When am I going to quit asking their advice? LOL. I liked the pink too, but stayed with the safe choice. I'm all packed except for toiletries. This is crazy... we are flying a different airline than Benny, but we all go through ATL at the same time. Not sure if we'll get to meet up with him until we get to Richmond though. Have a great day tomorrow and a wonderful Christmas Eve and Merry Christmas! XOXO

  8. Oh, Lisa, what an enjoyable post! The Corn Dip is delicious, we have it any chance we can around here. I could just eat it out of a bowl. Enjoy these days with your daughter as she might one day live many a mile away like my daughter and our time together is limited and with two little ones, she's usually distracted. :o)) Have I told you that Virginia is my birth place and I still have relatives in the Hampton area. I was born in Newport News and was married in Lynchburg. Have a most wonderful Christmas with your sweet family.

  10. Hi Lisa, I love your column, you are just so down to earth!! Enjoy having Katie home and seeing family. I have a question for the lash boost because you and Katie's lashes are aooo long, does it cause your eyes to be red like latisse? Latisse made my eyes red so I had to stop. Just curious... thanks and Merry Christmas!

    1. Hi Kathy and Merry Christmas. Thanks so much for reading and commenting. So with the Lash Boost, it’s weird for me because there will be days where my eyelids are pinkish and then days they aren’t. My actual eyes aren’t red. I use a brightener/concealer on my eyelids and under eye daily so it covers the pink. For me it’s worth the pink color to have lashes😉 but that’s a personal decision. Some people have this issue and others don’t. If you do want to try it there is always the 60 day money back guarantee that’s super easy to take advantage of and I always encourage people to return if they aren’t happy. (Which rarely happens.👍🏻) If you think of any other questions, feel free to ask. XOXO

  14. You and your girl are just TOO gorgeous! Please, pray tell, what does it mean to get your nails "dipped"?! I'm so curious! I hope you had an absolutely wonderful Christmas, Lisa!

    1. Aw, Thanks Melissa! So the nail dip thing has been around for a year or two I think. It’s really pretty cool. She paints a polish on your nail about 1/2 way up and then dips it in this super fine powder. Then she paints it almost all the way up and dips again, and then the same again. One coat is white (the first dip) and then the next 2-3 are the color of your “polish”. It doesn’t peel like a gel manicure and is about the same price as a “set” of acrylics. I’ve been going 3-4 weeks, but they look pretty grown out and bad at the end of that time. I really like the end product though. We had a wonderful Christmas and I hope y’all did too. Happy New Year sweetie! XOXO
